Myanmar is one of the southeast Asian countries.Since ancient times,the economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries have been very frequent due to its adjacency to China.Chinese settlers in Myanmar are not uncommon.According to the history of Myanmar immigrants,there are a large number of Chinese in Myanmar,and the cultural needs and identity of the Chinese community affect the breadth and depth of Chinese culture in the local dissemination.The Chinese who have long lived in Myanmar retain both the roots of Chinese culture and the influence of Burmese culture.At present,the older generation of Chinese immigrants who have been deeply influenced by the traditional Chinese culture have gradually withdrawn from the stage of history,and a new generation of Burmese Chinese has sprung up like mushrooms after Spring Festival.We need to pay close attention to their understanding of the traditional Chinese culture and customs.This paper takes 179 Chinese primary and secondary school students from Yunhua Normal University in Mandalay,Myanmar as the main objects of investigation,and conducts an analysis and research centering on "The identity of Traditional Chinese culture" through questionnaires,interviews and other methods.First of all,from the three aspects of material culture,ethical culture and psychological culture,this paper analyzes the status quo of Chinese ethnic primary and middle school students in Northern Myanmar's identification with traditional Chinese folk culture,as well as their differences in gender,educational level and family language environment.Then,based on the results of Chinese education background and data analysis in northern Myanmar,the characteristics of identification of Chinese New Year folk culture among Chinese primary and secondary school students in northern Myanmar are summarized.Through literature research and interviews,this paper makes a further discussion on the causes and influencing factors of the ethnic Chinese year folk cultural identity in northern Myanmar,and finally puts forward corresponding strategies for the problems existing in the ethnic Chinese year folk cultural identity in northern Myanmar.
