A Comparative Study Of General-purpose Textbooks And Local-type Textbooks In German Middle Schools

This paper takes the German native Chinese textbook “Dong bu dong” published by Ernst Klett Publishing House in Germany and the general Chinese textbook “learn Chinese from me” published by Chinese people's Education Publishing House(German version)as the research object.These two representative German middle school Chinese textbooks are analyzed by the methods of literature analysis,contrastive analysis,quantitative analysis and interview.It is found that “Dong bu dong” is more suitable for German middle school students at the primary Chinese level than “learn Chinese from me”(German version),and it is more targeted and practical.The innovation of this paper lies in that,combined with the General syllabus of International Chinese Teaching and the syllabus of some federal states in Germany,the two textbooks are carefully compared for the first time from the point of view of the four major language elements and the principles of textbook compilation.At the same time,the author interviewed and investigated teachers from the center for language education and cooperation who have taught these two textbooks in Germany and the teachers who have participated in the translation of German annotations in general-purpose Chinese textbooks.From the theoretical and practical aspects,the author puts forward some suggestions on the compilation of Chinese textbooks in German middle schools to provide references.This paper is divided into seven chapters:Chapter One is gives an introduction to the research background and the reasons for determining the research object,and expounds the current situation of Chinese teaching,Chinese textbooks and contrastive research in German middle schools.In addition,it also summarizes the deficiency and development trend of the contrastive study of Chinese textbooks in German middle schools.Chapter Two mainly introduces the basic situation of the two textbooks,and makes a comparative analysis combined with the textbook style.Chapter Three is the key part of this paper,which mainly summarizes merits and shortcomings of the two textbooks by comparing the four language elements of phonetics,Chinese characters,vocabulary and grammar in the two textbooks from the perspective of language elements.Chapter Four compares and analyzes the similarities and differences of the cultural contents of the two textbooks from the perspective of cultural compilation.Chapter Five summarizes the compiling characteristics of the two textbooks under the guidance of pertinence,scientificity,practicality and interest from the perspective of compiling principles of the two textbooks.Chapter Six analyzes and summarizes the improvement methods of the German middle school Chinese textbook compilation combined with the teaching feedback from the local Chinese teachers in Germany and the feedback from the teachers who have participated in the German annotation translation of the general Chinese textbooks from the perspective of practice.Chapter Seven is the summary of the comparative analysis of the above teaching materials,and puts forward the corresponding suggestions for the improvement of teaching material compilation,so as to provide reference for the compilation of TCFL teaching materials in Germany in the future.
