Research On The Work Burden Status Of County Primary School Teachers Under The Background Of Lightening The Load

Education is thriving,the country is thriving.Teachers are the key factor to the schooling.The working status of teachers determines the development trend of a school.Tired teachers can not cultivate well-rounded students.To pay attention to teachers' workload means caring about teachers' actual living and the future of school education.Lightening the working burden of teachers is not only the innovation of ideas and technology,but also the important premise of providing higher quality education for the people.This study surveyed some teachers from 62 urban public primary schools in 16 counties(districts)in southern Hunan and finally we got 727 valid questionnaires,besides,it conducts unstructured interviews with five teachers to relevant data or texts about the objective and subjective work load of teachers.Through difference analysis and correlation analysis,the study found two things.One is the objective and subjective work burden of the teachers in the county primary schools in southern Hunan were above the average level,but not up to the excessive level.The other is teachers still focus on education and teaching affairs,such as teachers spent too much time on supporting work,too many and diverse work interfering with teachers' core tasks,and teachers spent little time on professional development etc.According to the research conclusion,this study suggests that there are three reasons to explain why teachers' workload is heavy and dissimilation by the theories of pedagogy,management and psychology.Firstly,student are soaring and parents expect too much from teachers.Secondly,school management pursues quantification and the way of teacher evaluation is examination-oriented.Thirdly,educational reform and administrative factors affect teachers' work load.So in this study,the burden reduction strategies are proposed from three levels.First of all,we should take the top-level design as the guide to strengthen external support,and cooperate with multiple parties to protect the pure land of education.Next,the school implements the humanist management to stimulate the teacher's potential to arouse the internal vitality.The last,teachers should improve their work efficiency by enhancing their professional competence.The study aims to promote the county primary school teachers to reduce their workload and increase their capacity through internal and external cooperation.In a word,this study attempts to help teachers to be self-actualization in the mundane work.
