Today,organizations live in a highly competitive business environment,and companies urgently need a more creative team to respond to external turbulence and threats.Enterprise social media apply mature social network technologies to the enterprise to achieve efficient and transparent internal communication,collaboration and online knowledge exchange,providing the possibility to enhance employee creativity.However,there are also some views that the frequent use of enterprise social media may strengthen the communication between specific individuals,result in negative consequences such as herd effects and group thinking,thereby reducing employee creativity.Therefore,how enterprise social media influences employee creativity is an urgent concern for companies.Based on the systematic literature review,this paper used grounded theory to unearthed the core affordances of enterprise social media,including visibility,association and editability,and established a model of the influence mechanism of enterprise social media to promote employee creativity through knowledge sharing of different behavior orientations between individuals and organizations.On this basis,research hypotheses were proposed and related variable measurement scales were designed.SPSS and Smart PLS statistical analysis tools were used to conduct empirical analysis on 378 valid data obtained from formal surveys,including reliability and validity analysis,structural equation model test,and mediation effect test.The empirical results show that the visibility,association and editability have a significant positive impact on personal-oriented knowledge sharing,the visibility and association have a significant positive impact on organization-oriented knowledge sharing,individually-oriented knowledge sharing and organization-oriented knowledge sharing have a significant positive impact on employee creativity,but the impact of organization-oriented knowledge sharing on employee creativity is stronger than that of personal-oriented knowledge sharing.Based on the final research conclusions,this study summarized management enlightenment and proposed specific management suggestions from the perspectives of corporate managers and enterprise social media platforms in order to help them to better operate and develop enterprise social media.
