In this paper,a kind of Mg-based sorbent was prepared. The preparation process and the adsorption and regeneration performance were investigated mainly, and its physical and chemical properties were also analyzed by SEM,XRD and pore structure analyzer. The obtained main conclusions were as follows. The optimum preparation conditions for the sorbent are an additive content of 30%,a molding pore size of 3mm,a calcination temperature of 500℃,the calcination time of 2h and the heating rate is 5 ℃/min.The mechanical strength of the sorbent prepared in the above favorable preparation condion is 85.3N/cm.The optimum adsorption temperature is 300℃ for the sorbent.Under the adsorption temperature of 300℃,the adsorption pressure of 2MPa,the GHSV of 600h-1 and the CO2 content of 36%in feeding gases, the breakthrough and saturated capacities of the sorbent are up to 4.25mmol/g and 8.44mmol/g,respectively.The deactivated model can be used to describe well the CO2 adsorption process of the sorbent. The optimum regeneration conditions for the sorbent are the decomposition temperature of 500℃ and the decomposition time of 30min.The sorbent can maintain a steady breakthrough adsorption capacity of 3.50 mmol/g for 18 cycles. After 20 cycles, the adsorption capacity of the sorbent decreases rapidly, due to the agglomeration of the sorbent particles resulting in decreasing pore surface area and volume.
