China has both the greatest storage of Sb resourse and production of Sb in the world.However,the process technology of Sb are far behind the other nonferrous metals such as Al,Cu,Pb,Zn and rare-earth metals in equipment and technology levels.Although they are low in direct metal yield ratio,high in energy-consuming,high in labor intensity and unfriendly to the environment,blast furnace and reverberatory furnace are still popularly used in the Sb smelting.Hechi city in Guangxi Province is rich in jamesonite which contains Ag and In and some other valuable elements.Jamesonite is polymetallic sulfide ore for which the metallurgy process is still the pyrometallury used since 1960s.First,jamesonite is roasted and desulfurized in fluidized bed roaster.After mixed with silica and sintered,the material is sent to blasting furnace which reduces the material to Pb-Sb alloy.Then antimony powder and bottom lead are generated after Pb-Sb alloy is converted in the reverberatory furnace.Finally,we can get 2#Sb from refining the antimony powder in the reverberatory furnace and 1#Pb from silicofluoric acid lead electro-refining.The whole process has lots of disadvantages such as multiple process,many feedback materials,high energy consumption,serious low concentration SO2 air pollution,low recovery ratio of main metals and associated metals scatter which do great harm to economic benefit.Flash smelting technology is researched and developed for the Pb concentrate pyrometallurgy,of which the core is to make the ’cyclone smelting’ through using a whirlpool nozzle and to get lead bullion and low lead content slag during the continuous smelting process in one metallurgical furnace.This Technology has been successfully used in the production practice.If the flash smelting technology can be applied to the field of jamesonite smelting,it accords with the spirit of national 863 programs and the development trends of the National 12th Five-Year Plan for nonferrous industry.It would be a great innovation in the Sb metallurgy of the world if the flash smelting technology can successfully applied in dealing with jamesonite,then it would make historical significance and change the history of the Sb metallurgy for which there has no advanced technology in the last 50 years in the world.As totally new in smelting jamesonite with flash smelting technology,it is very necessary to do complete analysis and demonstration about the feasibility and reliability of the flash smelting technology industrialized application.This article mainly with the self-redox situation for the Pb-Sb concentrate from jamesonite and through necessary experiment and computer simulation,inspects the distribution of the main elements in the smelting process,how to improve the productivity of the primary alloy,how to reduce the content of valuable metal in the slag,how to get the best control parameter to minimize the ratio of the Sb enters into the dust and also how to ensure the continuous smelting as the Sb goes into the dust.The molten pool smelting experiments,cold flash experiment and computer simulation,this paper draws the following conclusions:1 Pb Sb complex ore can realize direct smelting in flash smelting condition and molten pool smelting condition;2 temperature has improved since the redox reaction;3 tons of ore of oxygen and oxygen concentration in a certain degpree to increase is not conducive to the reduction of lead antimony metal;4 theory,through the lead antimony oxide drops hot coke layer can basically completely reduction;5 High oxygen enrichment concentration,can reduce the antimony,distribution of lead in the flue gas ratio,reduce the smoking rate;the concentration of sulfur dioxide in flue gas of 6 flash smelting can achieve acid production requirements;7 flash smelting technology has higher efficiency than the traditional recovery better,etc.Flash smelting technology in the treatment of Pb sb complex ore of Pb Sb complex ore processing created a new smelting process,as the area of Guangxi Hechi local and domestic rich production of Pb Sb complex mine and processing complex lead antimony and antimony smelting enterprises list processing is proposed for Pb Sb complex ore new ideas,for the Pb sb complex ore smelting industry,environmental protection,energy saving and improve the production efficiency and improve the recovery rate of contribution.
