| With the signing of a series of international treaties to deal with climate change, the forest carbon sink project has received more and more attention, and its poverty alleviation function has also become increasingly prominent.Research on the effect of forest carbon sinks on poverty alleviation has drawn increasing attention from the academic community.Farmers’ value evaluation of forest carbon sink projects development determines their attitudes and behaviors, and it plays a key role in the realization of climate change and poverty reduction. This thesis is based on perceived value theory, this paper constructs the perceived value theory model which interprets poverty alleviation performance of forest carbon sink projects development.Based on the sampling survey data of 328 effective sample farmers, from Forestry Carbon Sink of China Southwest ethnic areas,as Novartis Southwest Forestry Carbon Sink,Community and Biodiversity Project and Yunnan Tengchong Small Reforestation Carbon Project’ implementation area.Structural equation model is used to empirically explore the relationship of farmers’ perceived value at the poverty alleviation performance of forest carbon sink projects development with their willingness to continuously support the operation of the projects. The research results show:(1)Forest carbon sinks are currently an effective path to achieving climate change and reducing poverty,72.56% of farmers hold that advantages of alleviating poverty by developing forest carbon sink projects over-weigh the disadvantages of it,and 69.82% of farmers are willing to continuously support the operation of forest carbon sink projects.(2)Perceived benefits and perceived risks directly affect the perceived value at poverty alleviation performance of forest carbon sink projects. To put it more specifically, perceived benefit has a significant positive influence on the perceived value at poverty alleviation performance of forest carbon sink projects, and the impact extent of perceived economic benefit is the largest, followed by perceived social benefit and perceived ecological benefit respectively.Perceived risk has a significant negative influence, and the impact extent of perceived context risk is the largest, followed by perceived psychological risk and perceived economic risk.(3)The perceived value of farmers’ forest carbon sink poverty alleviation effects directly affects the long-term sustainability of project implementation. The perceived value of advantages over disadvantages has a significant positive effect on the willingness of farmers to continuously support the operation of the project.Based on the above findings, this paper further proposes the following suggestions:(1)Strengthening poverty alleviation functions and regulating market operations should be an important choice for China’s forest carbon exchange system changes;(2)Perfecting incentive mechanisms and remedying market failures should be used as the expansion of forests. An important direction for the carbon-saving poverty alleviation advantage;(3)Effectively increasing farmers’ participation in project development is an important way to advance the fight against climate warming and reducing poverty.(4)The key to realizing long-term sustainable use of forest carbon sink projects is to bring into play the main role of farmers and enhance their perceived value. |
