| Although China’s economy has achieved rapid development since the reform and opening up,its development mode is not sustainable and healthy.Commercial banks play a leading role in China’s capital market.To promote ecological civilization construction and sustainable economic development by financial means is inseparable from the participation of commercial banks.Green credit is the means for commercial banks to actively fulfill their environmental and social responsibilities.Green credit can accelerate the green transformation of economy by adjusting the allocation of resources,which is not only conducive to environmental protection,but also of great significance to the sustainable development of banks.This thesis analyzes the internal logic of the influence of green credit on the business performance of commercial banks from the perspective of corporate social responsibility theory,environmental risk theory,cost-benefit model and evolutionary game model,and then puts forward the research hypothesis and designs the corresponding research model.In the empirical analysis part.The relevant data of 22 commercial banks in China from 2009 to 2019 are selected as the research samples.The empirical results show that green credit can significantly improve the performance of commercial banks.Green credit has a positive impact on the profitability,security and development ability of commercial banks.Moreover,the influence of green credit on the performance of commercial banks is heterogeneous in property rights and capital adequacy ratio.Then,this thesis studies the indirect influence of green credit on commercial banks by using "green reputation" as mediating variable.The results show that green credit has significant green reputation effect.Finally,combined with the specific reality of the implementation of green credit in China’s commercial banks,the thesis gives specific recommendations at the bank level and government level. |
