In recent years, the compound pollution of particulate matter and ozone is a serious problem, which affects the economic and social development of Henan province and the living quality of residents. As one of the most populated province in China,Henan province has a large number of vehicles,a long road length and a high frequency of residents’ daily travel activities. It is significant to control road dust emission for air pollution prevention and control in Henan province. Therefore,it is necessary to establish a high spatial resolution emission inventory of road dust in Henan Province, evaluate road cleaning control measures, and analyze the benefits of cleaning emission reduction for supporting air pollution prevention and control policies in Henan Province. In this study, based on the statistical data of Henan Province in 2019,WRF simulated meteorological field, road distribution from Baidu Map,dust emission of Henan province was calculated with AP-42 method for establish a 4 km×4 km high spatial resolution road dust emission inventory.Furthermore,by using the speeds of vehicles crawled with Python a 1 km × 1 km high spatial resolution road dust emission inventory of the typical city Zhengzhou was established. Then, according to the results of emission inventories, emission reduction and cost-effectiveness of existing road cleaning measures in Henan Province and Zhengzhou city were evaluated, and the changes in emission reduction potential of road cleaning measures under three different scenarios were analyzed. The results indicate that:(1)In 2019,TSP,PM10 and PM2.5 emissions of road dust source in Henan Province calculated with WRF simulated meteorological data were 1193.67 kt,238.53 kt and 58.20 kt,respectively.(2)TSP,PM10 and PM2.5 emissions of road dust sources in Zhengzhou city calculated with WRF simulated meteorological data and vehicles’ speeds were 77.06 kt,14.98 kt,and 3.62 kt,respectively.(3)In Henan province, the emission reductions of TSP,PM10 and PM2.5 caused by the existing road cleaning measures are 171.09 kt,32.28 kt and 7.86 kt,respectively. And emission reductions in Zhengzhou were 23.24 kt,3.31 kt and 0.78 kt,respectively. The total cost of road cleaning measures in Henan Province and Zhengzhou city were approximately 3.47 billion RMB and 0.39 billion RMB,respectively, and the costs of unit TSP emission reduction were 16446.55 and 16609.49 RMB/ton respectively.(4)The emission per unit length of roads of different grades in Zhengzhou is calculated grid by grid, which is improved from the previous overall single value to the independent value of each grid, including the uncleaned range:0.82~1.05 t/km,0.84-1.03 t/km,0.17~0.25 t/Am and 0.14~0.21 t/km,range of cleaning measures:0.28~0.36 t/km,0.29~0.35 t/km and 0.06~0.08 t/km.(5)By analyzing the potential of road dust emission reduction in Henan Province and Zhengzhou City, increasing the coverage of cleaning measures reduces PM2.5 emissions by 5.93 kt and 0.35 kt,respectively.PM2.5 emissions decreased by 12.33 kt and 0.76 kt respectively when the road cleaning coverage type was increased.PM2.5 emissions were reduced by 15.34 kt and 1.11 kt respectively when the comprehensive measures were applied.Through the analysis of emission reduction benefits,Henan Province has the highest emission reduction benefits by increasing the type of road cleaning;Zhengzhou City has the highest emission reduction benefits by applying comprehensive measures.
