Zirconia Zr O2 and other engineering ceramic materials have high strength,high hardness,wear resistance,corrosion resistance,high temperature resistance and other excellent characteristics,in machinery,medical,military,energy,electronics,aerospace and other fields are widely used.As the first process of engineering ceramics processing,cutting has a great impact on the quality and efficiency of subsequent turning,drilling,grinding,grinding,polishing and other processes.However,because of the large engineering ceramics with high hardness and brittleness,low toughness inherent attributes,large thermal stress exist in the process of traditional cutting,tool wear serious,low cutting efficiency and processing cost is high,the quality is not ideal,and ceramic susceptible to tiny cracks and stress concentration phenomenon,for products with complex shapes required for processing hard,greatly limits the application range of the ceramic material.Compared to traditional machining way,abrasive water jet(AWJ)machining in advanced manufacturing technology belong to furnish technical,economic and effective with no tool wear,thermal deformation and thermal damage,incision smooth section,processing and high flexible,high precision,low cost,in the field of ceramic processing has a huge development potential and broad application prospects.Therefore,in this paper,the process and optimization of abrasive water jet cutting block and tubular engineering ceramics are studied in depth for zirconia and other engineering ceramics on the basis of experiments and simulation technology.The removal mechanism of ceramic material by abrasive water jet was investigated,the influence of process parameters on cutting depth and taper was analyzed,the prediction model of abrasive water jet cutting quality and efficiency was established,and the process was optimized on this basis.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Study on mechanism of abrasive water jet cutting engineering ceramics.Based on fluid characteristics,governing equations and jet structure,the parameters affecting jet cutting performance were analyzed,the removal mechanism of ceramic material by jet was explained,the constitutive model of ceramic material was constructed,and the model parameters of zirconia ceramic material were given.(2)Analysis of abrasive water jet internal and external flow field and ceramic erosion process.Numerical simulation technology was used to simulate the flow field in the abrasive water jet nozzle,the outflow field,the erosion process of the abrasive water jet on the ceramic block,and the erosion process of the abrasive water jet on the ceramic tube.The mixing state and acceleration process of abrasive and water in the nozzle,the change process of jet pressure and velocity in air,the change of jet fluid density and workpiece stress in the process of jet erosion of ceramic block and ceramic tube were studied.(3)Study on the influence of process parameters on the cutting effect of zirconia ceramic block.With jet pressure,standoff distance,transverse speed and the number of cutting as a variable,and respectively on the abrasive water jet cutting zirconia ceramic pieces of single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment,to explore the jet pressure,standoff distance,transverse speed and cutting times four process parameters on the taper of incision and the influence law of notch depth,cutting effect regression forecast model is set up,On this basis,the optimal combination of cutting quality and cutting efficiency was explored.The cutting quality and cutting efficiency were analyzed comprehensively,and the optimal process parameters were obtained:jet pressure of 300 MPa,target distance of 2 mm,transverse velocity of 100 mm/min,cutting times of 1 time.In addition,the characteristics of erosion hole of ceramic block were analyzed by simulation and experiment.(4)The effect of abrasive water jet on cutting effect of ceramic tube and analysis of cutting characteristics.With notch depth and roughness at the bottom of the kerf width as the research target,through the response surface experiment of three factors three levels,explores the ceramic tube diameter,wall thickness and cutting way of abrasive water jet cutting the effects of the zirconia ceramic tube cutting notch depth is established and the roughness of the regression model,at the bottom of the kerf width and characteristics of ceramic tube erosion hole are simulated and experimental comparison and analysis,The cutting characteristics of ceramic tubes were analyzed from different cutting methods.
