In this paper, activated sludge adsorption technology is applied to the treatment of slaughterhouse wastewater, the influencing factors and adsorption mechanism of activated sludge adsorption of organic matter in slaughterhouse wastewater are explored, and the optimal process conditions are determined,so as to provide reference for the application of activated sludge adsorption technology in slaughterhouse wastewater. In this paper, the effects of sludge concentration,pH value, temperature, organic concentration, heavy metal ions and other factors on the adsorption performance of activated sludge in slaughterhouse wastewater were discussed. The experimental results show that the adsorption performance of activated sludge is the best when the adsorption time is 90 min,the activated sludge concentration is 4000 mg/l,the pH value is 8,the temperature is 35℃,the organic concentration is 1500 mg/l,and the stirring intensity is 150 r/min.The removal rate of organic matter in slaughterhouse wastewater by activated sludge may reach more than 70%.This study investigated the adsorption characteristics of activated sludge on different carbon source organics in slaughterhouse wastewater under the optimal conditions. The experimental results show that activated sludge can effectively adsorb and remove amino acids and humic acids from slaughterhouse wastewater, and the effect of activated sludge adsorption is better than humic acids. The higher the concentration of organic matter in slaughterhouse wastewater, the greater the unit adsorption capacity of activated sludge.Hg2+and Cu2+can inhibit the adsorption of organic matters by activated sludge. The inhibition of Hg2+on the activated sludge adsorption system is stronger than that of Cu2+.The greater the concentration of Hg2+and Cu2+,the worse the adsorption performance of the activated sludge system. In this paper, the adsorption mechanism of activated sludge adsorbing organic matter in slaughterhouse wastewater was studied. The results showed that the removal of organic matter in slaughterhouse wastewater by activated sludge included two processes:adsorption and degradation.Activated sludge has obvious initial adsorption and removal of organic matter in slaughterhouse wastewater, and the adsorption time reaches adsorption equilibrium at 90 min.In the process of organic matter removal by adsorption, the effect of microbial degradation of activated sludge on the removal of organic matter in slaughterhouse wastewater was 8.11%.The quasi second-order kinetic model is more suitable to describe the process of activated sludge adsorbing organic matter in slaughterhouse wastewater, and inter particle diffusion is the main speed limiting step. The adsorption of organic matters in slaughterhouse wastewater by activated sludge can be described by Freundlich model adsorption isotherm, indicating that the adsorption of organic matters in slaughterhouse wastewater by activated sludge belongs to multi-layer adsorption. The adsorption process of organic matters in slaughterhouse wastewater by activated sludge is a spontaneous, endothermic and entropy increasing process. The main adsorption mechanisms may include pore filling, electrostatic interaction, complexation, hydrogen bonding,cation-πinteraction andπ-πinteraction.
