With the accelerating urbanization process,China’s rail transit industry is developing rapidly,and subway construction plans have gradually expanded from large-sized cities to medium-sized cities.Meanwhile,various kinds of subway construction safety accidents have occurred frequently in China,causing heavy engineering economic losses and serious negative social consequences.In order to reduce the probability of accidents and protect workers’ lives and public property to a greater extent,it is necessary to investigate the causes of subway construction accidents.336 subway construction accidents that occurred during 2001-2020 in China were collected here.Based on the statistical perspective,a systematic analysis was conducted from the dimensions of time,location,accident type,accident engineering nature,and severity to reveal the characteristics and rules of subway construction accidents.Subsequently,combining the investigation reports of 138 subway construction accidents and the classical accident causation model,a subway construction accident causation mechanism tree was proposed based on fault tree analysis(FTA),where we regard subway construction accidents as the top event and the five dimensions as first-level intermediate events,i.e.human,equipment,environment,management,and safety culture.Based on this,17 risk causative factors related to the severity of subway construction accidents were selected through correlation analysis.And we proposed a method based on Bayesian network(BN)to analyze the dynamic causality of high-risk subway construction accidents and perform risk inferences.Through the hybrid approach with FTA and BN,we explored the complex causative factors of subway construction accidents and their action paths.By providing decision suggestions for the safety management of infrastructure construction from three aspects of system construction,mechanism operation,and supervision guarantee,we hope this study can be conducive to reducing the risks in subway construction projects in China.
