With the continuous improvement of the economic level, tourism also presents a vigorous development trend. However, behind the boom lies a series of negative issues, especially the damage to the ecological environment. As core stakeholders in promoting sustainable tourism development, the destination residents are more extensively engaged with the destination.Whether they adopt environmentally friendly behaviors is an important factor influencing the sustainable development of the destination, which in turn can be influenced by other stakeholders.Among them, whether tourism enterprises fulfill their corporate social responsibilities(CSR)directly affects the relationship between tourism destination businesses and residents, which further affects the environmental protection behaviors of the residents.Using the stimulus-organism-response(S-O-R)framework,this study develops and tests a comprehensive model to demonstrate the impact of residents’ perception of CSR in tourism enterprises on their environmentally responsible behaviors. The model answers the following questions: What is the relationship between residents’ perception of tourism CSR and their environmentally responsible behaviors? Is there a mediating effect between residents’ perception of the CSR and their environmentally responsible behaviors through their local identity and perceived benefits of tourism? Does the length of residence have a moderating effect between residents’ perception of tourism CSR and residents’ environmentally responsible behaviors? This thesis is divided into six chapters, namely, the introduction, relevant concepts and theoretical bases, research hypotheses and the theoretical model, research design, empirical and result analyses, discussion and enlightenment.Based on the survey and structural equation analysis of 400 residents in tourism destinations, the results show that residents’ perception of tourism CSR positively influence residents’ perception of tourism benefits, local identity and environmentally responsible behaviors;both perceptions of tourism benefits and residents’ local identity mediate the relationship between residents’ perceptions of tourism CSR and their environmentally responsible behaviors. The length of residence positively moderates the relationship between residents’ perceptions of tourism CSR and their environmentally responsible behaviors. Finally, the research proposes feasible suggestions to enhance the environmentally responsible behaviors of residents in tourism destinations from three perspectives: enhancing the social responsibility of tourism enterprises, strengthening residents’ perception of the benefits from tourism, and improving residents’ sense of local identity. |
