Cutting tools are the key elements in machining,and the management of cutting tools is an important link in product production.Reasonable tool management can effectively reduce production costs and improve production efficiency.Especially for the processing of composite material components,the structure of the tool used is relatively complex,the information of the tool needs to be synchronized in time,and the life of the tool needs to be accurately controlled,which puts forward higher requirements for tool information management.As an important means of tool information management,the tool management system can track the use process of the tool and carry out the process management of the tool.However,the original tool management system often can only store the general structural parameters of the tool,and cannot store the complex structural parameters of the tool.At the same time,it relies on paper labels to track the tool information in different production processes,resulting in low tool information flow efficiency.The life of the tool mostly relies on manual estimation or complex calculation of the sensor,which makes the management of tool life difficult.Therefore,in view of the above problems,this paper designs the system function operation logic and tool multiparameter storage structure,establishes a tool status information management function module by sensing machine tool and other equipment information,and establishes a system life prediction function framework by exploring tool wear and damage forms,and developed a tool management system with the functions of tool multi-parameter information management,state management,life prediction,etc.And it is applied to typical composite material cutting tools,which improves the use efficiency of the tools and reduces the management costs of the tools.The specific research work is summarized as follows:(1)By analyzing the internal tool information exchange process of the enterprise,the functional requirements of the tool management system are determined.According to the characteristics of functional requirements,the four-layer system framework of the tool management system and the realization logic of functional modules are designed.Taking into account the tool data structure and multi-structure parameter characteristics of the tool required for function realization,a logic model of the tool information database is established,which realizes the storage of the complex structure parameters of the tool,and provides logic and data support for the establishment of subsequent functional modules.(2)Based on the proposed function module operation logic,the tool coding rules that can characterize different processing materials and tool structures are designed,and the tool information identification method and carrier are optimized to realize the rapid identification of the tool.Using the machine tool communication protocol,the collection of machine tool processing time,processing parameters and other information can be realized,and the use of tools can be directly fed back.Combined with force signal analysis,it can assist in judging the machining state of the tool.The above methods speed up the flow efficiency of tool information in the workshop.(3)Taking the life prediction of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics cutting tools as an example,through the wear observation experiment,it is determined that the cutting edge geometry after tool wear is elliptical,and the wear prediction model is established.By exploring the relationship between wear profile and machining damage,a life prediction model is obtained.The prediction results of the model are basically consistent with the actual values.By referring it to the system,the construction of the life prediction function framework is completed,and the precise management of tool life is realized.(4)Using Visual Studio and other development software,the functional modules of the tool management system were developed,and a complete tool management system was built.It is applied to the management of typical composite cutting tools,and the management ability of the system for composite cutting tools under different processing conditions and different processing materials is explored.The tool management effect is good,and the use efficiency is greatly improved,which provides a solution for the management of composite cutting tools.
