The 2021 "Government Work Report" has made clear instructions on accelerating the implementation of the regional development strategy, requiring the establishment of a high-quality development of regional economic layout and a support system for land and space, and continued to promote the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta,Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao.Construction of the Greater Bay Area, ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. The implementation of the regional development strategy is not only the general trend, but also a process of continuous economic agglomeration. From a practical point of view, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta, which have the highest economic density in China, are also areas with more prominent haze pollution. Therefore, the economic agglomeration phenomenon inevitably brought about by the implementation of the regional development strategy is an important source of aggravating China’s haze pollution.? Therefore, further research is needed with the help of empirical methods. This paper combines the theory of spatial agglomeration with the theory of environmental pollution, constructs a theoretical analysis framework for economic agglomeration and haze pollution, and puts forward research hypotheses.Using the panel data of 277 prefecture-level and above cities in China from 2003 to 2019,a spatial econometric model is constructed to explore The effect of economic agglomeration on haze pollution is examined, and the moderating effects of high-quality development and industrial structure rationalization on the relationship between the two are tested respectively.Further, the threshold model is used to deeply analyze the threshold effect of economic agglomeration on haze pollution. After research,we have drawn the following main conclusions: First, there is a significant spatial spillover effect of haze pollution;secondly, the impact of economic agglomeration on haze pollution presents an "inverted U"-shaped relationship, that is,as the level of economic agglomeration increases,Haze pollution shows a trend of rising first and then decreasing;in addition,high-quality development and rationalization of industrial structure have negative and positive regulatory effects on the relationship between economic agglomeration and haze pollution;finally, the impact of economic agglomeration on haze pollution There is a double threshold effect based on scientific and technological innovation, and with the improvement of the level of scientific and technological innovation, the impact of economic agglomeration on smog shows a significant positive and nonlinear law of diminishing marginal efficiency. Therefore,to curb smog pollution,it is necessary to improve the synergistic linkage mechanism of pollution prevention and control, and pay attention to guiding the layout of production factors towards environment-friendly industries. |
