Butyl rubber(IIR)has excellent performance in air tightness,low temperature flexibility,low resilience,and chemical corrosion resistance.It is widely used in automobile tires,medicinal bottle stopper,protective equipment and so on.The IIR latex was made from IIR,and then the IIR latex was vulcanized after demulsification with kinds of polyvalent metal salts.Compared with IIR is processed directly,IIR latex can be mixed more evenly with various ingredients and fillers.The tensile and rheological properties of IIR system were investigated from the point of view of demulsifier and filler optimization,and the vulcanization kinetics of IIR was revealed.In this paper,the effects of 11 kinds of metallic salts demulsification and direct stirring demulsification,12 kinds of demulsification methods and six kinds of fillers on the vulcanization process of IIR and the tensile and rheological properties of vulcanized rubber were investigated in detail.The preferred metallic salt demulsifiers Zn(OAc)2,Cu(OAc)2 and CuSO4 can improve the modulus of IIR latex film more than traditional CaCl2.The preferred metallic salt demulsifier MgSO4 can shorten the vulcanization time of IIR latex film more than traditional CaCl2.The optimal metallic salt demulsifier CuCl2 can improve the elongation at break of unfilled IIR vulcanizates.The metallic salt demulsifier CuSO4 can also improve the tensile fracture strength and elongation at break of carbon black filled IIR vulcanizate.
