In the interstellar space of the universe,particles collide all the time and form reactions between particles.Through in-depth exploration and study of the collision process and reaction process between these particles,human beings can further explore the origin of the universe.And we can further understand the reaction mechanism of some elementary reactions to explain the reaction process of these interparticle reactions.The author of this paper cooperated and participated in the construction of a set of ion-molecular reaction experimental equipment under ultra-low temperature conditions during the master’s degree,which mainly includes an ultrasonic jet-cooled molecular beam,an ion beam source,an ion guidance system,an ion cooling system,an ion trap,and a time-of-flight detector.,mass spectrometry detection equipment and ion velocity imaging system.The feature of this device is that the ion beam source used is cooled to ultra-low temperature through a cooling system(the temperature can be as low as below 6K).In the experiment,a pulsed molecular beam with high angle and velocity resolution generated by ultrasonic jet cooling was firstly used.The ion beam is produced by bombarding a neutral beam source with an electron beam.The generated ion beam source is filtered by the quadrupole mass selector to select ions with a specific mass-to-charge ratio,and then introduced into the ion trap by a self-designed ion lens for further cooling,and the ion beam source is detected by a time-of-flight detector.We have successfully obtained and detected a cryogenically cooled argon ion beam source.The author participated in the whole process of building the device,and was mainly responsible for the design and testing of the ion trap and ion cooling system.After referring to a large number of literatures,a feasible cooling scheme was designed,and finally the temperature in the ion trap could be cooled to below 6K,which met our experimental needs,and a patent was published based on it.
