| Glass wool is commonly used in the construction industry due to its superior insulation,fire partition,and sound absorption properties.Yet,the glass fiber itself adheres poorly.When making glass wool,adhesives are needed to bind the glass fibers together.The adhesive has a direct impact on how well the glass wool performs.In this work,solution polymerization was used to produce a water-based acrylic resin that was further modified with adsorption and flame retardant.In the end,it was used to prepare glass wool using adhesive.The main contribution of the paper is as follows:(1)Discuss the reaction temperature,reaction duration,initiator type and dose,dosage of the functional monomer,and other aspects on the performance of the acrylic resin when employing acrylamide as a functional monomer to manufacture a water-based acrylic resin for formaldehyde adsorption,The final results show that:The polymerization temperature should be 85℃,the monomer drop time should be 1.5 hours,the holding time should be 4 hours,the initiator addition of acrylic monomer should be 1.5%,and the acrylamide addition of acrylic monomer should be 10%for the resin preparation to work optimally.Currently,the resin has a viscosity of 3100 m Pas,a solid content of 51%,and a 92%monomer conversion rate.It is a yellowish,viscous liquid that is totally soluble in water.In the formaldehyde adsorption test,the formaldehyde purification effectiveness was 83.4%.Its hardness may reach H and adhesion may achieve level 1 in the performance test.(2)Flame retardancy of the flame-retardant modified acrylic resin(FEAR)prepared by the blending process using guanidine phosphate(PPG)and montmorillonite(MMT)composite flame retardants was examined.The findings of the study were as follows:The overall performance of FEAR was highest when the acrylic resin was treated with 35%flame retardant(PPG:MMT=6:1).In vertical combustion,it met the UL-94 V-1 standard,and the limit oxygen index was 25.3%.FEAR T50%was 450°C during the thermal stability analysis test.At 650°C,the residual carbon concentration is 41 wt%.According to the conical calorimetric analysis,when compared to AR,the total amount of heat released by FEAR was lower by 44%,the peak heat release rate was lower by 74%,and the amount of smoke released per unit area was lower by 92%.Throughout the entire combustion process,the FEAR smoke release rate was also lower than 0.005m~2/s.The production of a dense and continuous carbon layer on the surface,which can better protect the inside elements,is feared by the morphologic study of the carbon layer after combustion.It is found that compound flame retardants have toughening effect on the material by mechanical property analysis.(3)The produced FEAR was used as the adhesive compound with glass fiber to create glass wool products having a thermal insulation function.The appearance morphological qualities,thermal insulation properties,and flame-retardant properties of the functional glass wool were examined.The findings demonstrate that baking glass wool for 1.5 hours at 120℃produces the optimum look shape.Glass wool performs best as a thermal insulator when the mass ratio of glass fiber to acrylic resin is 2:1;it has a density of 45 kg/m~3and a thermal conductivity of 0.032[W/(m·℃)].When the additive ratio is PPG:MMT=6:1 and the additive amount of compound flame retardant is 35%,the limiting oxygen index can reach 31.3%,which has outstanding flame-retardant performance. |
