The combined regulation of the arc jet behavior by a slice tungsten electrode and a vertical sidewall configuration anode can significantly affect the arc thermal characteristics,thereby improving the problem of groove bottom corner fusion during ultra-narrow gap TIG welding,and achieving high-quality welding.The topic mainly uses numerical simulation methods to first clarify the regulatory role of the slice tungsten electrode configuration on the evolution mechanism of the behavior of the non-sidewall anode arc jet.On this basis,further explore the synergistic effects of horizontal and vertical discharge gaps on arc jet behavior and arc characteristics,and ultimately clarify the synergistic regulation mechanism of slice tungsten electrode and vertical double sidewall configuration anode on arc jet behavior and arc characteristics.Under the action of a non-sidewall configuration anode,by comparing cylindrical tungsten electrode arc,the macroscopic distribution of slice tungsten electrode arc characteristics and jet behavior is clarified,and the regulatory mechanism of tip angle and tilt angle on arc characteristics and jet behavior is further explored.As the tip angle increases,a larger range of gases in the width direction form a cathode jet,but the decrease in current density further weakens the intensity of the cathode jet.As the inclination angle decreases,the inclination of the cathode jet increases,which in turn affects the distribution of the high temperature zone of the arc.In addition,based on the approximate formula for the strength of the slice tungsten arc cathode jet,the theoretical jet strength was obtained,and compared with the simulated jet strength to verify.Under the action of a vertical single sidewall anode,the shunt effect is the main factor affecting the jet behavior and arc characteristics.A change in the horizontal discharge gap will directly affect the shunt effect,while a change in the vertical discharge gap will indirectly affect the shunt effect.As the horizontal discharge gap gradually increases,the shunt effect between the slice tungsten electrode and the vertical single sidewall anode decreases,resulting in a gradual weakening of the inclination of the cathode jet.With the increase of the vertical discharge gap,the pressure gradient below the slice tungsten electrode increases,which significantly enhances the arc jet behavior of the slice tungsten electrode.When the vertical discharge gap gradually increases to greater than the horizontal discharge gap,the indirect shunt effect increases,resulting in a significant increase the distribution range of the current density and the low-temperature region above the surface of the vertical single sidewall anode.Under the action of a vertical double sidewall anode,due to the small vertical discharge gap,the gas on both sides of the width direction of the slice tungsten electrode will form two weak cathode jets,respectively.Under the coordinated control of the front tilt angle of the slice tungsten electrode and the vertical double sidewall anode configuration,the longitudinal component of the cathode jet near the larger vertical discharge gap gradually decreases with the increase of the front tilt angle,while the longitudinal component of the cathode jet near the smaller vertical discharge gap gradually increases with the increase of the front tilt angle.The synergistic regulatory effect between the tip angle of the slice tungsten electrode and the vertical double sidewall anode leads to a gradual decrease in the longitudinal component of the cathode jet on both sides of the width direction as the tip angle increases,and the arc current flows more towards the vertical double sidewall anode,thereby reducing the current density at the slice tungsten electrode tip.The coordinated regulation of the bottom anode configuration and the vertical double sidewall anode configuration causes the mainstream of the cathode jet in the thickness direction of the slice tungsten electrode to shift to varying degrees.The offset degree of the cathode jet mainstream in the symmetrical concave configuration is the largest,while the offset degree of the cathode jet mainstream in the symmetrical convex configuration is the smallest.
