Folding paper-cutting,as a unique form of Chinese paper-cutting art,contains thousands of years of cultural and historical connotations,and is one of the important components of Chinese folk culture and a precious representative of the world’s intangible cultural heritage.Based on the research of related literature,this paper systematically composes and analyzes the historical evolution,technical characteristics,modern development and artistic style of traditional folding paper-cutting,and uses digital technology and mobile application design to explore and excavate the artistic characteristics and folding techniques of folding paper-cutting,establish a library of cultural genetic materials of folding paper-cutting,and on this basis,realize the digital folding method of The paper also explores and explores the artistic characteristics and folding techniques of folding paper-cutting.At the same time,this paper also carries out a series of digital design practice activities based on the genetic material library of folded paper-cutting.This paper mainly covers the following aspects:First,the research background and significance of the topic are introduced,the development status and problems of folding paper-cutting at home and abroad are outlined,and the research objectives and innovation points,as well as the research methods and steps are clarified.Moreover,the research framework of folding paper-cutting digitization is established to provide guidance for the subsequent research work.Secondly,the artistic characteristics of traditional folding papercutting were systematically sorted out and analyzed.By reviewing relevant literature,the historical evolution and craft techniques of folding papercutting were sorted out,and through research,the modern application scenes and artistic expressions of folding paper-cutting at home and abroad were understood.On this basis,the artistic expression characteristics and technical features of folding paper-cutting were summarized,laying the foundation for further cultural gene extraction.Again,the cultural gene theory is applied to extract and construct the cultural gene of folding paper-cutting.By analyzing the dominant and invisible characteristics of folding paper-cutting,two types of cultural genes of folding paper-cutting were extracted:pattern genes and folding genes,and the corresponding gene material libraries were established respectively.At the same time,the process flow of folded paper-cutting is explored for design transformation,which provides a reference for the subsequent digital realization.Then,the folding method of the folded paper cuttings was digitally simulated.By studying the relationship between the folding method and the paper state,two-dimensional transformation methods such as translation,rotation and flip are used to realize the digital simulation of six common folding paper-cutting methods,and the corresponding simulation effects are demonstrated.Finally,a mobile application is used as a carrier to design and practice the digitization of folded paper-cutting.A prototype mobile application for folding paper-cutting creation is designed based on the folding papercutting gene material library,and its functional modules,interface design,and interaction logic are explained in detail.The mobile application aims to use digital technology and mobile Internet platform to spread and promote folding paper-cutting as a traditional Chinese folk art,and to stimulate users’ interest and participation in folding paper-cutting creation.
