With the implementation of the national sixth-stage motor vehicle pollutant emission standards,the requirements for oil filters are higher,and oil filter paper is a key material that affects the performance of oil filters.In order to ensure the passage rate of oil,the oil filter paper needs to maintain its strength and stability during the filtering process.The oil filter paper base paper for automobiles has poor water resistance,loose and soft texture,and its own physical strength such as bursting strength and stiffness is low.Phenolic resin(PF)is currently used more.The heat-resistant and toughening modification of PF was carried out to prepare three kinds of modified phenolic resins:boron-modified phenolic resin(BPF),tung oil-modified phenolic resin and boric acid-tung oil-modified phenolic resin(referred to as double-modified phenolic resin).The resin itself was analyzed by infrared and thermogravimetric analysis.At the same time,its influence on the physical properties of oil filter paper,including tensile strength,burst strength,air permeability,pore size,contact angle,filtration pressure difference,aging resistance and oil resistance,was explored.The heat resistance of boron-modified phenolic resin prepared by salicyl alcohol method is the best,and the residual carbon content is 68.4%at 800℃;the heat resistance of tung oil modified phenolic resin is the worst,and the residual carbon content at 800℃is the worst The heat resistance of bis-modified phenolic resin ranks in the middle,and the residual carbon content at 800℃is 67.52%.Three kinds of modified phenolic resins were applied to oil filter paper,and the physical properties of oil filter paper were tested.The results showed that tung oil modified phenolic resin had the greatest improvement in toughening effect and water resistance of oil filter paper,and the burst resistance index was 3.29 k Pa·m2·g-1,the tensile index is 59.1N·m·g-1,the longitudinal stiffness is 11.6 m N·m,and the contact angle reaches 124.2°.The oil filter paper was subjected to 12h aging test at 180℃,and the results showed that the residual burst index and the residual tensile index were both tung oil modified phenolic resin>BPF>PF>double modified phenolic resin,and the residual burst index of tung oil modified phenolic resin is 3.29 k Pa·m2·g-1,and the residual tensile index is 47.8N·m·g-1.But it is worth noting that the bis-modified phenolic resin has the highest retention rate of burst index and tensile index,which are 61.2%and 92.7%,respectively.The engine oil resistance test was carried out on the oil filter paper.The results showed that after aging in engine oil at 150℃for 192 hours,the bursting strength of the filter paper was tung oil modified phenolic resin>BPF>double-modified phenolic resin>PF.The temperature is 265 k Pa,which is 87 k Pa higher than PF.Tung oil-modified phenolic resin performs best on oil filter paper.The reaction mechanism is as follows:tung oil and phenol are firstly catalyzed by p-toluenesulfonic acid to form a tung oil-phenol reaction product;Tung oil has excellent water resistance and oil solubility.Its flexible alkyl chain is introduced into the structure of PF,which improves the toughness and water resistance of PF,and is very suitable for use on oil filter paper.
