Research On The Tang Dynasty’s Court Women’s Clothing And The Tang Dynasty’s Women’s Aesthetic

Among the feudal dynasties of China,the Tang Dynasty can be considered the most prosperous era,being the center of political,economic,and cultural exchanges between the Chinese nation and Asian countries at the time.With their varied forms,brilliant colors,novelty,and boldness,the dresses of Tang Dynasty court women brought together the essence of women’s clothing.They became one of the crucial symbols of Tang culture,and from their dressing up,we can see the aesthetic style of Tang women.The dress was not only the most basic physical need for Tang women but also an expression of their own emotions at the time,a kind of self-realization.The article takes the women of the Tang Dynasty court as the object of study.It examines the dress of court women and the aesthetics of Tang women through archaeological documents,historical books,tomb murals,cave murals,heirloom paintings,and excavated artifacts,divided into five parts: the first part discusses the political,economic,and cultural aspects of the Tang dynasty,as well as handicrafts,and analyses the living environment of Tang women.The second part describes in detail the various types of dress worn by women at the Tang court,including the dresses worn by the Empress and the Crown Princess,the regular dresses worn by women at court,the dance costumes of the dancer,and the distinctive female costumes that appeared in the harem.The gorgeous and exquisite costumes of the court women are among the most beautiful in history,the combination of makeup and accessories complement each other,and thus careful consideration should be given to the design,color,and materials of accessories,makeup,and clothing.In the fourth section,the previous section is used as an introduction to further explore the aesthetic style of women’s clothing at the Tang Dynasty court,which was open,atmospheric,and bold in breaking with tradition.The fifth part,with the trend of traditional culture returning to the public eye,this section explores the application of Tang Dynasty court women’s clothing elements in modern women’s fashion design and the inspiration they provide for modern women’s fashion design.The Tang Dynasty is a unique presence in the history of Chinese clothing,however,clothing is not an isolated product,and changes in aesthetic trends have a significant impact on it.This article conducted an in-depth study of the clothing of women in the Tang Dynasty palace,refining and analyzing the aesthetic basis of women at that time based on ancient and modern materials,further enriching our understanding of the history of clothing.Through the results and conclusions obtained from the above research,it is hoped that they can inspire and expand the ideas for stylish women’s clothing design so that traditional culture can be continued and innovated.
