In machinery and equipment such as automobiles,military vehicles,high-speed trains,agricultural machinery,engineering machinery and wind power equipment,friction materials are indispensable supporting materials,and their performance has a great impact on the safety,stability and reliability of machinery and equipment systems.Resin-based friction materials are widely used in brake linings of brakes and clutch plates of clutches due to their excellent manufacturability,designability and good tribological properties.However,the thermal fading,poor stability of friction factor,excessive wear at high temperature,high brittleness and high noise of the friction material with phenolic resin as binder have become bottlenecks that limit its further application.Polyether ether ketone fiber is an organic polymer material with high strength and good high temperature resistance.When the friction material works at high temperature,the melted PEEK fiber can cover the wear debris and hard particles at the interface due to thermal recession.On the one hand,it can prevent hard On the other hand,the melted PEEK fiber can effectively adhere to the wear debris,promote the formation of the secondary contact plateau,and improve the tribological properties of the friction material.In this paper,on the basis of fully understanding the development status and existing problems of friction materials,and according to the basic theory and design ideas of brake friction materials,three kinds of silane coupling agent(KH-550,KH-560 and KH-570)solutions on the surface morphology,chemical properties and mechanical properties of polyether ether ketone fibers were firstly studied.The results show that the KH-550 silane coupling agent solution has the best modification effect of polyetheretherketone fibers.On the one hand,it increases the roughness of the fiber surface and can be combined with other components.On the other hand,it reduces the C=O in the polyether ether ketone fiber structure,further enhancing the binding ability with other components.Secondly,the silane coupling agent modified polyether ether ketone fiber reinforced friction material was prepared,and the unmodified and different silane coupling agents(KH-550,KH-560 and KH-570 types)modified polyether ether ketone were further studied.The effect of fibers on the physical and mechanical properties and tribological properties of friction materials.The results show that adding KH-550 silane coupling agent solution modified polyetheretherketone fibers can effectively improve the physical and mechanical properties of friction materials and resist heat decay performance,recovery performance,wear resistance and worn surface morphology.On the basis of the above research,absolute ethanol was selected as the liquid-phase binder(bridging fluid)in the granulation process,and five kinds of ordinary granulated silane-modified polyetheretherketone fiber-reinforced friction materials were prepared.The influence of different mass fractions(0 wt%,2 wt%,4wt%,6 wt% and 8 wt%)of modified polyether ether ketone fibers on the physical and tribological properties of friction materials,the results show that the content of 6Ordinary granulated friction materials with wt% modified polyetheretherketone fibers have good physical and mechanical properties and friction and wear properties.Based on the above research results,in order to prevent the cross-linking and solidification of PEEK fiber and phenolic resin under high temperature conditions,the bionic structure design of the friction material was carried out,five kinds of silanemodified PEEK fiber-reinforced friction materials imitating plant cells were prepared,and studied the influence of different mass fractions(0 wt%,2 wt%,4 wt%,6 wt% and8 wt%)modified PEEK fibers on the physical and mechanical properties and friction and wear properties of friction materials,the results It was shown that the plant-like cell granulation can further improve the thermal decay resistance and recovery performance of the friction material,and effectively improve the friction stability and wear resistance of the friction material.Plant cell granulated friction material samples have good physical and tribological properties.Finally,the simulated plant cell granulated friction material samples with modified polyether ether ketone fiber added at 0 wt% and 6 wt%were selected,and the JF160 CHASE sample testing machine and the JF120 1:5 scale bench testing machine were used to simulate The tribological properties of the real working conditions were studied,and the results showed that the imitation plant cell granulated friction material added with 6 wt% silane-modified polyetheretherketone fibers,as a brake lining,had better braking performance in simulating realistic hightemperature working conditions.
