Research in geography, psychology and landscape architecture has found that natural green space environments can help people relieve fatigue and reduce stress, and have a positive impact on people’s physical and mental health, and academics refer to such environments as restorative environments, which can promote relaxation and restore people’s attention. As the most accessible green space in the urban environment, urban parks provide people with a good recreational environment and the opportunity to get in touch with nature, which is in line with the attributes of a restorative environment, and its health benefits have received widespread attention from academics. However, the current research on the health benefits of urban parks is more focused on the analysis of the overall spatial perspective, while the analysis of the health benefits of the environmental characteristics of parks is still lacking, and the mechanisms of their effects on health need to be further explored.Restorative experiences can effectively evaluate the restorative potential of the environment and measure the restorative capacity of the environment from the perspective of people’s perceived evaluation. For urban parks,it is worth discussing whether the characteristics of environmental elements have an impact on people’s restorative experience and whether there is a potential role for restorative experience in influencing the health benefits of parks.Based on this, this study uses three comprehensive urban parks, including Guanshanhu Park,Qianling Mountain Park and Huaxi Park,in the central city of Guiyang,a typical mountainous city,as case studies, and park recreationists as research objects,to explore the impact mechanism of urban park health benefits in depth, aiming to provide reference for the construction and renovation of parks in the same type of cities,as well as to promote the construction of good urban The study aims to provide a scientific reference for promoting the construction of good urban habitat and the physical and mental health development of urban residents.Specifically, this study firstly combed through the literature on urban parks, restorative experience and health benefits, and constructed a park perceived environmental quality scale and a health benefits scale based on four dimensions of natural attributes, service facilities, spatial design and management and maintenance, respectively;and introduced restorative experience into the relationship between perceived environmental quality and health benefits, based on attention restoration theory. The structural model and research hypotheses of the three were constructed;then SPSS and AMOS software were used to empirically analyse the influence of different dimensions of perceived environmental quality on restorative experience and health benefits,as well as the potential role of restorative experience in the health benefits of urban parks. The findings show that:(1)people’s individual social characteristics have no significant differential impact on perceived health benefits, and park playtime and self-health evaluation have a significant differential impact on perceived health benefits;(2)among the different dimensions of perceived environmental quality on health benefits, perceived natural attributes, perceived service facilities and perceived management and maintenance have a significant positive impact on health benefits, and spatial design perception had no significant direct effect on health benefits;(3)among the effects of different dimensions of perceived environmental quality on restorative experience, natural attribute perception, service facility perception and spatial design perception had significant positive effects on restorative experience, while management and maintenance perception had no significant effects on restorative experience;(4)restorative experience not only had significant positive effects on health benefits, but also had significant positive effects on health benefits in not only does restorative experience have a significant positive effect on health benefits, but also has a significant mediating effect in the three dimensions of perception of natural attributes, perception of service facilities and perception of spatial design on health benefits. The study empirically demonstrated the influence path of "urban park-restorative experience-health benefits" and concluded that the formation of restorative environment plays an important role in enhancing the health benefits of parks, and proposed management implications for the enhancement of health benefits of urban parks based on the empirical findings.
