| With the increasing demand for textile properties,the development of textile finishing agents with unique functions has attracted the attention of researchers.The public not only requires textiles to be comfortable to wear but also needs fabrics to have some special functions.Cotton fabric has the characteristics of good moisture permeability and comfortable wearing.However,the weakness of crumpling in daily wear or washing has long troubled consumers who love cotton fabrics.Previously,researchers often used N-hydroxymethyl and polycarboxylic acid finishing agents to treat cotton fabrics for wrinkle problems.However,they have formaldehyde release,strength loss,feel decline,and other new problems.Therefore,it is of profound practical significance to study fabric finishing agents which can not only improve the problem of cotton fabric wrinkle easily,but also ensure environmental protection and safety,do not reduce the feel and strength of the fabric,and even give cotton fabric special functions.In this paper,a kind of water-based silicone rubber containing disulfide bonds was prepared by emulsion polymerization and used as a finishing agent for the cotton fabric to investigate its effect on the properties of cotton fabric.Firstly,small molecule hydroxyl silicone oil was used as the base polymer and dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid(DBSA)was used as the acidic polymerization catalyst to prepare hydroxyl-terminated polysiloxane emulsions by anionic/nonionic emulsion polymerization.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)was used to characterize the synthesis of hydroxy-terminated polysiloxane.The results show that the preparation of hydroxy-terminated polysiloxane emulsion with a solid content of 30% requires the use of 30 g small molecule hydroxy-silicone oil monomer,4% negative/nonionic composite surfactant,3% polymerization catalyst DBSA,and an appropriate amount of water to prepare 100 g solution.After mechanical emulsification and polymerization at 70℃ for 4h,the hydroxy-terminated polysiloxane emulsion with a monomer conversion of 82% and a particle size of 5.935μm was obtained,and the emulsion showed excellent stability.Secondly,the multi-functional crosslinking agent KA was synthesized by using 4-4’diaminodiphenyl disulfide(AFD)and silane coupling agent(KH560)and was added into the hydroxy-terminated polysiloxane emulsion system to prepare water-based silicone rubber and its cured film.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),dynamic thermomechanical analysis(DMA),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray energy chromatography(SEM-EDS)and Raman spectroscopy were used to characterize the synthesis of crosslinking agent KA and the mechanical properties of water-based silicone rubber films.The results showed that 4%crosslinking agent KA was added to the raw material of hydroxy-terminated polysiloxane emulsion for polymerization.After cooling,1~2 drops of crosslinking catalyst organic titanium were added to obtain water-based silicone rubber containing disulfide bonds(DS-WSR).Then,after roasting in the oven at 90℃ for 7h,water-based silicone rubber film with breaking strength of 120 KPa and elongation at break of 200% could be obtained,which provided a reference for the subsequent finishing process of water-based silicone rubber as a finishing agent for cotton fabrics.Finally,the cotton fabric was finished with disulfide bonded water-based silicone rubber(DS-WSR)to explore its influence on the properties of the cotton fabric.The results show that after dipping and rolling the cotton fabric with 250g/L DS-WSR finishing agent,the cotton fabric can be pre-baked at 80℃ for 120 S and then baked at 130℃ for 240 S in the hot setting machine,the delay crease recovery angle of the cotton fabric can be increased from 120° to 153°,and the soft and smooth feel index of the cotton fabric can be improved.Moreover,the function of temperature-responsive shape memory is endowed to cotton fabric,which greatly expands the application field of cotton fabric. |
