A Study On The Development Of Yugur Costume Culture:Cultural Change And Cultural Consciousness

Cultural change is one of the traditional topics in ethnological studies.The discussion on ethnic cultural change and development has been the main concern of ethnological and cultural anthropology since the 20 th century."Cultural consciousness" is a viewpoint put forward by Fei Xiaotong in 1997 under the background of global integration.Today,under the background of promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of the excellent traditional Chinese culture,it is of certain academic value and practical significance to pay attention to the core driving force behind the cultural development of ethnic areas from the perspective of cultural anthropology and to comprehensively explore the ethnological research of the Yugur community,an ethnic group with a small population.As one of the unique ethnic minorities in Gansu Province,the Yugur people’s traditional costumes are the "living fossils" for the study of their history and culture since the written language has long been lost.As the ethnography rooted in Yugur community,it takes the social and historical changes as the background,starts from the historical and structural levels,and presents the function,generation and practice of cultural consciousness supported by national forces in the development of Yugur costume culture with specific empirical data.The introduction points out the importance of cultural consciousness under the support of the state to promote the development of traditional culture by taking what will be the future of traditional culture after it loses its living space in the modernization.From the specific study of ethnology on the change of costume culture and the review of theory and literature,the dynamic problem in the study of the development of Yugur costume culture is introduced.The main body of this paper is divided into three parts.First,taking the overall Yugur costume as the research object,it summarizes the Yugur costume culture from three aspects: the background,basic characteristics and functions.Secondly,it focuses on the different development stages of Yugu costume culture and the specific contents of the change of Yugu costume culture in the development stage.Finally,the paper makes a diachronic analysis from the perspective of cultural consciousness,and on this basis summarizes the mechanism and process of the generation and practice of cultural consciousness.Starting from the final trend of traditional culture,the development status of traditional culture in the context of intangible cultural heritage protection,the core force behind social and cultural changes and how to promote the development of traditional culture,on the one hand,it responds to scholars’ research on the motive force of cultural change,and points out that the national force is the basis of the conscious generation and practice of culture.It is further pointed out that cultural consciousness,as the endogenous driving force of cultural change and cultural development,has two generative paths of history and times.Finally,the author thinks that it is the time value of cultural consciousness to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture.On the other hand,it takes specific experience as the basis of theoretical dialogue,and puts the micro study of Yugur costume culture in a larger theoretical background,making it become a broader ethnological and cultural anthropological thinking in the study of cultural change and development.
