Research On The Existing Problems And Countermeasures Of Environmental Protection Investment Of A Iron And Steel Company

In recent years,my country’s environmental problems have been serious,which have seriously affected the sustainable development of my country’s economy.In this regard,my country attaches great importance to the control of environmental pollution.Among the many pollution-causing behaviors,enterprises have to bear most of the responsibilities,only destroying but not treating them has led to increasingly serious environmental problems.This shows that environmental governance is particularly important.Environmental protection investment is the basis of environmental governance.Due to the profit-seeking characteristics of enterprises,the problem of insufficient environmental protection investment has existed for a long time.Therefore,it is of certain significance to study environmental protection investment and encourage enterprises to make environmental protection investment.On the basis of combing the related literature on environmental protection investment,this article uses the case study method,taking A Steel Company as a case,focusing on the use of data to analyze the environmental protection investment of A Steel Company from 2016 to 2020,and analyzes the corresponding reasons for the problems in its environmental protection investment.Put forward corresponding suggestions,hoping to inspire some enterprises in the steel industry and other related heavy pollution industries.First,this article introduces the research background and significance of the thesis,and introduces the research content and methods,besides,combs the relevant literature,all of those based on some theories,which are the information asymmetry theory,sustainable development theory,cost-benefit theory,stakeholder theory,principal-agent theory,and conducts case studies.The analysis found that the company has problems such as small amount of environmental protection investment,single environmental protection investment project,and unsustainable environmental protection investment.According to the analysis of the problems,six aspects are analyzed,and it is found that it is affected by profit pressure,affected by financing constraints,and principal-agent conflicts.Six reasons are serious,irregular internal control processes,insufficient tax incentives and incentives,and low cost of violations.Then,corresponding to each problem,we propose to guide enterprises to transform to an "environmental profit model",multi-party participation in reducing capital costs,Incorporate environmental performance into the assessment standards,improve the supervision mechanism of the internal control process of the enterprise,improve the relevant environmental protection tax preferential system,and strengthen the relevant environmental supervision.It draws the conclusion that the overall environmental protection investment of enterprises in my country’s heavily polluting industries is still insufficient,and the above measures can be taken to improve it.To sum up,this paper selects a company in the steel industry,a traditional industry that still ranks high among the 16 heavy polluting industries,as a case.As we all know,the steel industry occupies an important position in the national economy,at the same time,it is an industry that is often named in terms of environmental pollution.It has a certain contrast and is also a strong representative.It is hoped that this article can provide a reference for my country to improve the relevant policies and regulations of environmental protection investment,increase the amount and efficiency of corporate environmental protection investment,and change the situation of environmental pollution from the source.
