Ti/Al/Mg clad sheets not only contain many excellent properties of Al/Mg clad sheets,but also improve the overall stiffness and strength of the plate.It has good application prospects,so it is important to study the Ti/Al/Mg clad sheets rolling process and its properties.However,the internal structure of the material often determines its mechanical properties.Therefore,the selection of the best composite process parameters is very important for the successful preparation of Ti/Al/Mg clad sheets with excellent performance.The three materials,TC4 titanium alloy,6061 aluminum alloy and AZ31 B magnesium alloy were used in this article for the hot rolling preparation and properties of clad sheets according to the symmetrical stacking sequence of Ti/Al/Mg/Al/Ti.The specific steps and contents are as follows:(1)Firstly,the macroscopic mechanical properties of Ti/Al/Mg/Al/Ti clad sheets are theoretically deduced and calculated by the classical clad sheet theory in composite material mechanics.The performance parameters such as overall stiffness,strength,specific stiffness and specific strength of the clad sheet were investigated respectively in relation to the thickness of each layer to acquire the best ratio of sheet thickness.(2)Based on the optimal thickness ratio,the hot rolling process of Ti/Al/Mg/Al/Ti clad sheets was simulated by Deform-3D finite element software.By analyzing the variation of thermal field,stress field,strain field and overall rolling force of clad sheets under different rolling reduction and different rolling temperature,it provides theoretical guidance for subsequent rolling experiments.(3)The hot rolling experiments of Ti/Al/Mg/Al/Ti clad sheets with different reduction,different rolling temperature and different thickness ratio were carried out on the two-roll mill by controlling variable method.The mechanical properties and microstructure evolution of the composite plate under different process parameters were observed and analyzed by advanced instruments such as universal testing machine,microhardness tester,optical microscope(OM)and scanning electron microscope(SEM),so as to obtain the best hot rolling process parameters.(4)The clad sheets prepared under the optimal rolling process parameters were annealed at different times and different temperatures.The tensile properties testing,hardness test detection,interface element scanning,magnesium layer structure observation and tensile fracture analysis of the clad sheet samples treated under different annealing conditions were carried out to obtain the optimal annealing process parameters,which provided a certain reference value for the actual mass production of Ti/Al/Mg/Al/Ti clad sheets.
