High resource recyclability is an advantage of lead-acid batteries.Lead oxide could be obtained from lead paste,which can be used again to make negative active material(NAM)for new cells,but its overall electrical properties still cannot achieve satisfactory results compared with the ball milled lead powder,because the recovered lead powder does not contain pure lead,which is important influence on the performance of the cell.Therefore,it is still a key problem to prepare lead oxide directly from waste lead-acid batteries as active electrode material.It is well known that recovered lead oxide from lead pastes has poor electrochemical performance as an active material.However,adding nano-lead carbon materials can not only improve cell capacitance,but also inhibits hydrogen evolution caused by carbon materials.So,a new system is constructed by nano-lead-carbon composite materials,thereby improving the electrochemical performance of lead oxide from waste lead-acid batteries as an electrode active material.The main content of this paper is the successful synthesis of a series of composite nano-lead carbon materials by microwave method,such as Pb S@Pb/CB(PSC),Pb SO4/Pb@CB(PPC),Pb SO4/Pb@MC(PMC)and Pb SO4/Pb@AB(PPA).The composites are characterized and analyzed by XRD,XPS and SEM,which are applied to the active material of recovery lead powder from lead paste.The influence of composite materials is studied by electrochemical analysis methods,such as HRPSo C test,CV and LSV.The results show that:1.The high-rate partial charge state(HRPSo C)life(19291)with 0.81wt.%PSC3 composite is 6.5 times that of blank cell(2960).Discharge capacity(0.2C)of composite cell(916.6m Ah)is 3.2 times that of blank cell(287.3m Ah).2.The HRPSo C life(45957)with 3.0wt.%PPC composite is 15.7 times that of blank cell(2960).Discharge capacity(0.2C)of composite cell(1.16Ah)is 2.7 times that of blank cell(287.3m Ah).3.The HRPSo C life(10089)with 3.0wt.%PPA composite is 3.4 times that of blank cell(2960).Discharge capacity(0.2C)of composite cell(1.16Ah)is 9.6 times that of blank cell(94.8m Ah).4.The HRPSo C life(15292)with 3.0wt.%PMC composite is 5.2 times that of blank cell(2960).Discharge capacity(0.2C)of composite cell(1.16Ah)is 9.9 times that of blank cell(94.8m Ah).The research shows that the composite material,as a cathode active additive,can not only greatly improve the electrochemical performance,but also inhibit the hydrogen evolution reaction of the cell.
