Research On The Impact Of Environmental Information Disclosure On The High-quality Development Of Heavily Polluting Enterprise

Due to China’s long-term one-sided pursuit of economic growth rate,the importance of rational utilization of resources is ignored,which leads to a series of problems of environmental pollution and resource shortage.The 19 th National Congress report indicated that China’s economy has begun to shift from high-speed growth to high-quality development.The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China once again emphasized that the primary task of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way is to achieve high-quality economic development,and we must adhere to the theme of promoting high-quality development and focus on improving total factor productivity.Enterprises are the micro foundation of high-quality economic development,in order to achieve high-quality development of countries,regions and industries,first need to achieve high-quality development of enterprises,and promoting high-quality development of enterprises is an important way for China’s overall economy to move towards a high-quality development stage.High-quality development cannot be achieved without green development.Environmental information disclosure is a significance manifestation of enterprises’ emphasis on green development.As the main producer of environmental pollution,enterprises should take active social responsibility for environmental protection and governance,and timely and comprehensively disclose information about their resource utilization,pollution emission and environmental governance.Heavy polluting enterprises should take corresponding responsibility for serious pollution problems.In this paper,282 heavily polluting A-share enterprises from 2011 to 2021 are selected as research objects to study the impact of environmental information disclosure on high-quality development.The results show that improving environmental information disclosure can promote the high quality development of heavy polluting enterprises.Environmental information disclosure mainly affects the high-quality development of heavily polluted enterprises through financing constraints and green technology innovation.Through further research,in state-owned enterprises and large enterprises,environmental information disclosure plays a more significant role in promoting the high-quality development of heavy polluting enterprises.Therefore,this paper focuses on state-owned and large-scale heavy pollution enterprises,and on the basis of empirical research,selects Maanshan Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd.for case study,further enriching the content of the study.
