Exploring the influence of environmental cognition and social network on farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification will help improve the mechanism of rural domestic waste classification and human settlements environment governance in my country.At the same time,it has important practical significance for consolidating the achievements of rural revitalization,improving the living environment in rural areas and building "beautiful villages".This thesis mainly takes farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification as the research object.First,this thesis sorts out the relevant concepts and theoretical basis.Secondly,this thesis understands the current situation and problems of rural domestic waste classification and management in this county through field research on the willingness of 360 farmers in 7 towns and towns in Feixi County,Anhui Province in2022.Furthermore,through theoretical analysis,this thesis systematically explores the influence mechanism of environmental cognition and social network on farmers’ willingness to participate in household waste classification.In addition,a binary Probit model and a mediation effect model were constructed to empirically test the impact of environmental cognition and social network on farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification.Finally,on the basis of empirical analysis,policy recommendations for improving the rural domestic waste classification and management mechanism are extracted,in order to provide ideas for improving the rural living environment in Feixi County.This thesis draws the following research conclusions:(1)Farmers in Feixi County have relatively low enthusiasm for participating in domestic waste sorting and management,and it is necessary to optimize the governance mechanism of rural human settlements from the perspective of strengthening farmers’ participation.(2)Environmental cognition has a significant positive impact on farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification.Among them,environmental concern,environmental attitude and environmental responsibility are all positively correlated with farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification.Compared with environmental concern and environmental attitude,environmental responsibility has a greater impact on farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification.(3)Social network has a significant positive impact on farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification.Among them,network interaction,network trust and network norms all positively affect farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification,and network norms have the greatest impact on farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification.(4)Social network can affect farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification through environmental cognition.Among them,environmental concern and environmental responsibility play a mediating role in the influence of social network on farmers’ willingness to participate in domestic waste classification,while environmental attitudes do not have a mediating effect.
