| Excessive global greenhouse gas emissions have led to frequent extreme climate events, and ecological and environmental problems have intensified to sound the alarm for mankind. In September 2020,Xi Jinping made China’s commitment to the world to achieve carbon peak in 2030 and carbon neutrality in 2060 at the general debate of the 75 th United Nations General Assembly. The 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China once again emphasized that "promoting green and low-carbon economic and social development is a key link in achieving high-quality development.Although the impact of tourism carbon emissions is not as significant as manufacturing, construction and other industries, with the vigorous development of tourism,it has also brought many negative effects to the global environment. The United Nations World Tourism Organization found that the contribution rate of tourism to global warming is increasing at an average annual rate of 2.5 %.Among them, hotel carbon emissions are the second largest source of carbon emissions in tourism, accounting for about21% of the total carbon emissions of tourism.According to statistics, the daily production of domestic waste in star-rated hotel rooms is about 3.6-12 kg,the daily consumption of disposable supplies is about 1.2 million sets, and the average annual carbon emission is up to 10,000 tons.Even the average annual carbon emission of non-star hotels has exceeded 1,000 tons.In the context of global energy supply shortage and rising prices, high energy consumption and high emissions have become important issues in hotel management. Therefore, promoting the implementation of low-carbon behavior in hotels is of great significance for alleviating global climate warming and energy shortage, and promoting the sustainable development of the hotel industry and even the whole economy and society. In the process of hotel low-carbon practice,it will involve the extensive participation and cooperation of many stakeholders.Which are the core stakeholders of hotel low-carbon behavior? What are the factors that affect the hotel’s low-carbon behavior? What kind of matching combination will be formed between these factors? How to trigger the hotel’s high level of low carbon behavior? This paper discusses these issues: First of all, based on the systematic analysis of the realistic background of low-carbon development of Hainan hotels and the existing research at home and abroad, the relevant theories involved in the research are determined. The core stakeholders of hotel low-carbon behavior are determined based on stakeholder theory, and the middle and senior managers of some hotels in Hainan Province are interviewed in depth. The grounded theory analysis method is used to summarize and extract the influencing factors of hotel low-carbon behavior from the government level, hotel level and customer level. The factors scattered at all levels are integrated into the same framework to construct a theoretical model of influencing factors of hotel low-carbon behavior.Secondly, based on the research results of relevant scholars at home and abroad and the results of field interviews, questionnaires were designed for distribution and collection. The fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fs QCA)was used to analyze the effective questionnaire data collected to explore the path of triggering high-level general low-carbon behavior and highlevel positive low-carbon behavior of hotels.Through the above systematic research and analysis, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)There are five major influencing factors: policy environment from the government level, resource support from the hotel level, social responsibility cognition and market competition cognition, and social norms at the customer level. There are characteristics of ’different causes and the same results’ and ’different ways to the same destination’ among them, and the combination promotes the implementation of low-carbon behavior in hotels.(2)Whether the hotel adopts low-carbon behavior is not determined by a single factor, but by the interaction of various factors of different stakeholders;under the different combinations of five factors, there are four combinations of factors that trigger the high general low-carbon behavior of hotels and three combinations of factors that trigger the high positive low-carbon behavior of Hainan hotels.Social responsibility cognition and resource support are the core conditions.(3)The seven trigger paths can be summarized into three configuration types, which are governmentassisted: ’traction + support’,customer-assisted: ’driving force + support’ and comprehensive balance: ’traction + support + driving force’. |
