In today’s world, ecological environment problems not only restrict the development of global economy, but also threaten the survival of human beings. The report to the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out: "Chinese-style modernization is the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature......We will unswervingly follow the path of civilized development featuring increased production,a prosperous life and a sound ecological environment to achieve sustainable development of the Chinese nation." It is of great practical significance for guiding people to eliminate the ecological crisis, solve the contemporary environmental problems, promote the construction of China’s beautiful, and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of China’s traditional view of nature.Based on the predicament and needs of the development of reality, this paper sorts out the thoughts of the relationship between man and nature scattered in Marx’s classic works,so as to dig deeply into its development process and main content. Then,on this basis, this paper explores the joint point of Marx’s thought on the relationship between man and nature and contemporary practice, and demonstrates its contemporary value in guiding people to eliminate ecological crisis, solve contemporary environmental problems, promote the construction of ecological civilization and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese traditional view of nature. As the General Secretary Xi emphasized in his speech at the conference commemorating the 200 th anniversary of Marx’s birth "To study Marx,we must study and practice Marxist thought on the relationship between man and nature."Based on the predicament and needs of the development of ecological civilization construction in the new era, this paper studies Marx’s thought on the relationship between man and nature by using two methods: literature research and summary.Firstly, the first chapter mainly discusses the background and significance of the topic selection, the research status of domestic and foreign scholars, research methods and innovation points.Secondly,on the basis of systematically sorting out the thoughts on the relationship between man and nature scattered in Marx’s classic works, the second and third chapters of this paper dig deeply into the development process and main contents of Marx’s thoughts on the relationship between man and nature. The second chapter mainly discusses the historical background, direct theoretical source and development course of Marx’s thought of the relationship between man and nature. After the outbreak of the first Industrial Revolution, the capitalist machinery industry and science and technology developed rapidly, which promoted the rapid economic development and the rapid accumulation of material wealth, but also brought serious environmental problems. In this regard,Marx formed his own scientific theory about the relationship between man and nature after three periods of germination, construction and maturity on the basis of inheriting the criticism of the past western views of nature, mainly Hegel and Feuerbach’s views of nature. The third chapter discusses the main contents of Marx’s thoughts on the relationship between man and nature from three aspects: the core and essence of Marx’s thoughts on the relationship between man and nature, the causes of opposition and the path of reconciliation and restoration.Marx believes that nature is the basis of human existence, and human beings should reform nature on the premise of respecting objective laws, and the two should be harmonious and unified dialectical relations. However, under the condition of capitalist private ownership, the alienation of human labor, the materialization of human social relations, and the wild plunder of nature by capital, make the relationship between man and nature become opposite. Therefore, only by abolishing private property, eliminating alienated labor, reforming the mode of production, and establishing a communist society with individual freedom and all-round development, can the relationship between man and nature be truly restored and the harmonious symbiosis between man and nature be realized. Finally,on the basis of a more comprehensive grasp of the content and connotation of Marx’s thought of the relationship between man and nature, the fourth chapter of this paper explores the connection point of Marx’s thought of the relationship between man and nature and contemporary practice, and explains the contemporary value of Marx’s thought of the relationship between man and nature on the basis of combining with the actual situation of our country. It is revealed that Marx’s thought on the relationship between man and nature is an important theoretical support for the creative transformation and innovative development of China’s ecological civilization construction and China’s traditional view of nature, and its important guiding significance for the construction of China’s beautiful China and the solution of the world’s ecological environment problems.
