With the development of digital technology and virtual economy,the fashion industry has undergone great changes in media and technological innovation.Due to the high development of the skin industry of characters in video games and the impetus of the epidemic,some pioneers of virtual fashion innovation began to test the emerging business model of virtual fashion.The integration of virtual fashion and social media platform expands the development path of virtual fashion.This topic takes "virtual fashion based on social media digital dress up" as the entry point,conducts an in-depth investigation on "social media platform based on user-generated visual materials(Instagram,Little Red Book,etc)" as well as the world’s largest virtual fashion retail platform DRESSX.Then analyze its format and formation reasons,in order to promote the development of virtual fashion industry.Literature research,case analysis and Internet field survey were used in this study.Specifically,it focuses on domestic and foreign reference literature,collects and grasses related content of virtual fashion through Internet channels,selects a large number of cases for investigation and analysis,and finally sorts out the development context and application performance of virtual fashion.The study found that virtual fashion,as a combination of traditional fashion design and cutting-edge technology,has different artistic characteristics,which are reflected in the diversity of work presentation(color,fabric and modeling),virtual work display and authentic visual experience.This is mainly applied to film and television,games and clothing industries.The three innovative aspects that are different from traditional fashion are the deepening of the tension of clothing expression,the division of expression layer and protection layer,and the extension of media and existence mode.Based on the above background,virtual fashion based on social media digital dressing is studied to explore its commercial form,design key points,design content and design characteristics.Further,the paper explores the social causes and user psychological causes of the emergence of virtual fashion.Finally,a series of virtual fashion products for digital dressing on social media platforms were created through the design practice of user questionnaire survey.Through the study of virtual fashion theory and design practice,this study reveals the design method and business model of virtual fashion,in order to provide effective design paths and reference ideas for the development of virtual fashion in the future.
