Research On Vectorization Method Of Dai Brocade Patterns And Construction Of Gallery Platform

Dai brocade is a kind of traditional hand-woven brocade of the Dai people.Dai brocade not only has a long history and cultural heritage and a unique ethnic regional style,but also contains the wisdom of the Dai people’s life and a strong religious and cultural atmosphere.However,the modernization of Dai brocade is facing the crisis of losing the handicraft and the challenge of "Thai silk",and there are few research results on Dai brocade in the academic field,so the preservation and development of the excellent culture of Dai brocade can be better inherited and developed.This project can facilitate the preservation and development of Dai brocade.On the one hand,this project can facilitate the preservation and reuse of Dai brocade pattern data,and on the other hand,it can facilitate the innovation and development of Dai brocade,so that Dai brocade can have a broader space for development in the modern market competition.The main research contents of this topic are as follows:(1)This topic mainly explores the historical and cultural development of Dai brocade,studies the weaving process of Dai brocade,and divides it by the geographical division of the branches,mainly by comparing and analyzing the pattern characteristics of Dai brocade from two regions,Xishuangbanna and Dehong,as well as Dai brocade from three branches,namely,Dai,Daiya,and Dai Ne.(2)After field research,this project mainly focuses on the systematic collection and collation of Dai traditional brocade patterns.1334 physical pictures of Dai brocade were collected,and 160 typical Dai brocade patterns were summarized and collated,and the patterns of these 160 Dai brocade patterns were extracted and then vectorized to obtain 275 vector images of individual elements of Dai brocade.The patterns were divided into 6 categories: animal patterns,geometric patterns,plant patterns,architectural patterns,character patterns,and other patterns,including 22 types of elephant patterns,8 types of peacock patterns,22 types of horse patterns,37 types of other animal patterns,20 types of geometric patterns,72 types of plant patterns,22 types of architectural patterns,27 types of character patterns,and 45 types of other patterns.(3)This topic conducts research on image vectorization,including the development of image vectorization technology,preprocessing before image vectorization,image vectorization steps,and image vectorization methods.Then,based on the pattern characteristics of Dai brocade,the most suitable method for vectorization of Dai brocade patterns is selected,and a vectorization software for Dai brocade patterns is designed using Matlab programming.Finally,the Dai brocade patterns are vectorized,and a Dai brocade vector image library and a website for Dai brocade vector image database are constructed.(4)This project analyzes and researches the stylistic artistic characteristics,color characteristics and organizational form characteristics of the Dai brocade patterns,applies the elements in the Dai brocade vector image database to carry out innovative designs of Dai brocade products,and finally designs three innovative Dai brocade garments of different styles and 10 cultural and creative products of Dai brocade.Based on the above research,the following conclusions were drawn from this project:(1)Dai brocade is mainly divided into two major schools,Xishuangbanna Dai brocade and Dehong Dai brocade,as well as Dai brocade of three major branches,namely Dai,Daiya,and Daina.In this paper,we study the regional branches of Dai brocade.Because of the different geographical locations and cultural characteristics of Xishuangbanna and Dehong,the two schools of Xishuangbanna Dai brocade and Dehong Dai brocade have been gradually formed,with Xishuangbanna Dai brocade preserving more of its own characteristics,mainly animal patterns,and generally black,red,and white colors;while Dehong region incorporates more of the brocade characteristics of other regions The patterns are richer in color,mainly geometric patterns.There are nine branches of the Dai people,and the inheritance of Dai brocade is mainly concentrated in the three branches of the Dai,Daiya and Dai-ne branches.The Dai branch believes in Southern Theravada Buddhism,so the Dai brocade patterns are generally closely related to the Buddha streamers,and are mostly animals and animals;the Daiya branch’s Dai brocade is generally used for dress decoration,and the patterns are usually flowers,trees,the sun,moon and stars;the Dai-ne branch’s Dai brocade patterns are usually found on women’s tube skirts,and the patterns are mostly geometric.patterns.(2)The motifs of Dai brocade are mainly divided into five categories: animal patterns,geometric patterns,plant patterns,architectural patterns,and character patterns.Among them,geometric patterns are the most frequently used,while architectural patterns are used very infrequently.The organization of Dai brocade is mainly divided into separate and continuous patterns.Separate patterns are generally divided into symmetrical and asymmetrical patterns,with symmetrical patterns being the main type,while continuous patterns are generally divided into two types of continuous patterns:two-sided and four-sided,with two-sided continuous patterns being the main type.(3)The vectorization of Dai brocade patterns is generally divided into three parts:image pre-processing,automatic vectorization and post-processing.In this study,the vectorization of Dai brocade patterns is almost purely handmade,so Dai brocade patterns are not as flat and smooth as woven patterns,and the colors are complicated,so pre-processing,such as binarization,image smoothing and image enhancement,is needed before vectorizing Dai brocade patterns.Because of the limitations of automatic vectorization technology,manual processing is needed after vectorization to obtain the final Dai brocade vector image.(4)The design principles of the Dai brocade patterns generally follow the three major laws of mimetic shape,suitability,and balance and uniformity.On the basis of more than one thousand Dai brocade patterns collected,we analyzed the pattern characteristics,color characteristics and organization of Dai brocade patterns,and concluded that the design principles of Dai brocade patterns generally follow these three laws.On the basis of following these three rules,the vectorized Dai brocade elements were arranged,reorganized and deformed to create innovative designs for Dai brocade patterns,resulting in exquisite patterns,simple patterns and natural colors.
