Taking 16 prefectures in Yunnan Province as the research object, firstly, the carbon emissions of the tourism industry in 16 prefectures from 2006 to 2020 were calculated by using the improved "top-down" method, combined with the data of energy and tourism destinations. The study of decoupling model and LMDI method shows that the spatial pattern of carbon emission intensity of tourism in Yunnan Province shows a centralized distribution in central and southern Yunnan. The total difference of carbon emissions from tourism in Yunnan Province is mainly caused by intra-regional differences. The contribution rate of carbon emissions from tourism in different regions to the overall difference is quite different; From the perspective of spatial distribution, the carbon emissions of tourism in Yunnan Province vary greatly from north to south.High-value areas and high-value areas are mainly concentrated in central and southern Yunnan, while low-value areas and low-value areas are mainly distributed in northwest Yunnan. It is not difficult to see that the regions with high carbon emissions are relatively developed, and the spatial agglomeration characteristics of the negative spatial correlation of carbon emissions of tourism in Yunnan Province are relatively stable; From the perspective of time sequence, the carbon emission decoupling index of Yunnan’s tourism industry, except for the negative value in 2014,showed strong decoupling, remained stable at about 0.39 in other years, and was generally in a weak decoupling state. From the perspective of space, the distribution of carbon emission decoupling index of tourism in Yunnan Province is relatively concentrated in the study area, and the degree of decoupling in central, southern and northwestern Yunnan is relatively good;During the whole research period, the factors that have the greatest impact on the carbon emissions of Yunnan Province are the intensity of carbon emissions from tourism and the endowment of tourism resources,of which the former has a negative impact, that is,it has suppressed the carbon emissions from tourism in Yunnan Province. The latter is a positive effect, which promotes the growth of carbon emissions from tourism in Yunnan Province. In addition, the tourism income effect and tourist scale effect are both positive, while the per capita tourism consumption effect is negative. At last,a series of effective countermeasures are put forward,in order to provide strong support for the formulation of scientific emission reduction policies.
