Research On The Effect Of Green Patent On The Performance Of Heavy Pollution Companies

Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy has developed rapidly and achieved many remarkable achievements.With the rapid economic development,China’s ecological environment has also suffered tremendous damage.At present,China has put forward new requirements for high-quality economic development,and the central government of China has also put forward a series of scientific assertions to speed up the process of pollution prevention and ecological environment protection.It is extremely urgent to promote the efficient economic transformation of heavy pollution enterprises.In addition,with the improvement of public awareness of environmental protection,traditional innovation has been unable to meet the public’s demand for products,while green innovation can not only reduce environmental pollution,but also create new economic growth points for heavily polluting enterprises.Based on this background,this paper takes the number of green invention patent applications and the number of green utility patent applications as the explanatory variables,Taking return on total assets(ROA)as the explained variable,this paper empirically studies the influence of the number of green patent applications on the financial performance of enterprises in heavily polluting industries.and carries out a specific financial analysis for Hailier Pharmaceutical Group,according to the impact of green innovation on the financial performance of heavily polluted enterprises through the channels of reducing costs and increasing income,The empirical analysis draws three conclusions: the number of green invention patent applications has a positive impact on the performance of heavily polluted enterprises,the number of green utility patent applications has a negative impact on the performance of heavily polluted enterprises,and the number of green patent applications has a greater impact on the performance of state-owned enterprises;Therefore,three targeted suggestions are put forward: the government should speed up the establishment and improvement of the green patent system,Hailier Pharmaceutical Group and other heavily polluting enterprises should continue to increase the investment in green innovation,and consumers should improve the awareness of green environmental protection and establish the concept of green consumption.
