Research On The Application Of Hanfu Elements In Animation Costume Design

Hanfu culture is an important part of Chinese traditional culture and has occupied a significant position in the history of China.Applying Hanfu elements to the design of animated costumes can enrich the cultural connotation of animated works,create a Chinese aesthetic style of animation,and promote the localization of Chinese animation.However,with the development of the times,traditional Chinese culture is facing the problem of "value conversion".In the field of animation creation,the application of Hanfu elements also faces various challenges.On the one hand,due to the lack of systematic understanding of Hanfu culture,there are often situations of misuse,mixed use,and abuse of Hanfu elements in practice,which will seriously mislead the audience.On the other hand,the application form and expression technique of Hanfu elements in animated works are relatively single,and the superiority of Hanfu culture is not fully utilized.Therefore,this paper conducts research on the application of Hanfu elements in animation costume design,and analyzes and summarizes Hanfu elements based on semiotics theory.This paper proposes element selection strategies and animation expression methods through symbolic thinking in animation costume design.Firstly,the background and research value of the topic are briefly introduced.Then,Hanfu elements and animation costume design are defined as the research objects,and their related concepts are defined.Secondly,combining with animated cases,the types and functions of animated costumes are analyzed and summarized.Then,Hanfu elements are studied in animated costume design from the aspects of Hanfu form,pattern,color,and material,exploring the aesthetic and cultural value of Hanfu elements application.Thirdly,the application of Hanfu elements in animated costume design is studied from the perspective of semiotics.Hanfu elements are cross-classified from the dimensions of iconic signs,indexical signs,and symbol signs,clarifying the symbolic properties of Hanfu elements.Then,two element selection strategies,namely "object image method" and "interpretation extension method",and two animation expression methods,namely "direct application method" and "indirect application method",are proposed based on triadic relationship model of "object-representation-interpretant",which have certain guiding significance for animation design practice.Finally,the design methods summarized in this paper are applied to design practice,and Hanfu elements are used for animated costume design.The short animation "Chinese costume for thousands of years " related to Hanfu culture is produced,and the design methods are verified according to the practical results.
