Magnetic elastic abrasive grain embeds magnetic particle phase and abrasive particle phase into the viscoelastic polymer according to a certain ratio,thus forming new particle with a certain shape.It has features of low elastic modulus,magnetism and excellent grinding performance.Magneto-elastic abrasive dual-disk magnetic machining used for the passivation of tools is a new kind of technique.Magnetic elastic abrasive grains can improve passivation efficiency and passivation quality and help obtain smooth edge profile.Therefore,the study of magnetic ball grinding particle characteristics and their effects on tool blunting is of significant scientific significance and practical value.First of all,based on double-disk magnetic passivation system,this paper analyzes methods to prepare silicone magnetic elastic abrasive grain and epoxy resin magnetic elastic abrasive grain,obtain the optimal ratio of abrasive particles and magnetic particles,and the micro morphology and hardness of magnetic-bouncing abrasive particles are analyzed.Besides,3DMAX software is also used to build a Mesoscopic representative unit model for magnetic elastic abrasive grains and ABAQUS simulation software is also used to analyze micromechanical properties of magnetic elastic abrasive grains,studying the influence of the particle size of alumina(Al2O3)particles,iron particle size,and abrasive phase type on the stress and strain of magnetic abrasive grains,and optimizing the performance parameters of magnetic abrasive grains.Second,considering magnetic passivation features of magnetic elastic abrasive grains,this paper proposes a method to use the cutting edge surface roughnessof tool to predict the service life of elastic abrasive grain,the impact of passivation parameters,such as magnetic abrasive particle size,alumina(Al2O3)particle size,and iron particle size,on the wear and life of magnetic abrasive particles were studied through experimental research.The roughness of the cutting edge surface,internal element mass percentage of magnetic abrasive particles,and wear volume of magnetic abrasive particles were analyzed after the magnetic abrasive particles reached their lifespan to verify the feasibility of the method.Finally,based on the force analysis of magnetic abrasive grains in a magnetic field,a model for material removal of tool edge by magnetic abrasive grains was established.The effect of passivation parameters such as the mass of magnetic abrasive grains,the particle size of alumina particles,and the particle size of iron on the passivation amount of tool front surface,back surface,and surface roughness of the tool edge were studied through orthogonal experiments.The results were compared with the vertical rotating passivation method to analyze the edge profile,surface roughness,and service life of the tool after passivation,verifying the superiority of this passivation method.
