Identifying the sandy desertification sensitivity areas and future development trends is crucial for preventing and improving sandy desertification. This study takes Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as the research object, selects 2000,2005,2010,2015,and 2020 as the research periods, and constructs an evaluation index system from meteorological, topographical, soil, and socio-economic aspects.The"Pressure-State-Response"analysis framework and spatial distance index model are used to evaluate the sandy desertification sensitivity in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The study investigates the differentiation pattern, spatiotemporal change characteristics, and driving factors of sandy desertification sensitivity during the research period. The CA-Markov model is used to simulate the sandy desertification sensitivity in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the future(2030),and the optimization zoning and management strategies for sandy desertification sensitivity are proposed based on this. The final research results are as follows:(1)The distribution pattern of sandy desertification sensitivity in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region shows that,in terms of time, the sandy desertification sensitivity types in 2000,2005,2010,2015,and 2020 were mainly moderate sensitivity. Its area proportion showed a trend of first decreasing, then increasing, and finally decreasing.Among the dynamic changes of sandy desertification sensitivity types, the low sensitivity increased the most, accounting for3.55%.In terms of space, the spatial distribution pattern of sandy desertification sensitivity during the research period showed a bipolar differentiation phenomenon, generally presenting a"low sensitivity in the northeast, high sensitivity in the southwest, and moderate sensitivity in the central part"spatial distribution pattern.(2)The spatiotemporal evolution law of sandy desertification sensitivity in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region shows that the sandy desertification sensitivity in the autonomous region has been mainly of a stable type over the years, with a total area of 63.94×10~4 km~2,accounting for 54.00%of the total area of the autonomous region.Among the sensitivity conversion types, the fluctuating conversion between moderate sensitivity and low sensitivity accounted for 8.42%of the total area of the autonomous region, with an area of 9.97×10~4 km~2.Overall,in the changes in sensitivity, the improved area with reduced sensitivity accounted for 18.17%of the total area of the autonomous region, with an area of 21.51×10~4 km~2,while the deteriorated area with increased sensitivity accounted for 7.86%of the total area of the autonomous region, with an area of 9.31×10~4 km~2.The sandy desertification sensitivity in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has decreased in the past 20 years.(3)The simulation of sandy desertification sensitivity in 2030 and the characteristics of sensitivity transfer show that, compared with 2020,the area proportion of low sensitivity types(insensitive and low sensitivity)increased, while the area proportion of high sensitivity(extremely sensitive and highly sensitive)decreased.Overall,in the next 10 years, the low sensitivity type area in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region’s sandy desertification sensitivity will continue to increase, with the proportion of improved areas(11.33%)being greater than that of degraded areas(0.96%).(4)In terms of the influencing factors of sandy desertification sensitivity, the main factors affecting sandy desertification sensitivity in factor detection are vegetation coverage, surface temperature, aridity, and land use intensity. In the interaction detection, the combination of vegetation coverage, surface temperature, aridity, and land use intensity with any other indicator factors will enhance the impact on the spatial differentiation of sandy desertification sensitivity, especially the interaction effect of vegetation coverage and other influencing factor indicators.By evaluating the regional sandy desertification sensitivity,it is helpful to clarify the potential of current sandy desertification, contribute to the identification and protection of areas prone to sandy desertification and highly sensitive regions, and provide a reference for the prevention and control of sandy desertification.
