Study On The Evolution And Dsesign Ideas Of Gold And Silver Eating Utensils In The Tang Dynasty

Gold and silver eating utensils in ancient China developed slowly until the Tang Dynasty.The gold and silver eating utensils unearthed in Tang Dynasty were more than the sum of those discovered in previous dynasties.The prosperous and powerful Tang Empire,with its unification of the north and south,and well-developed transport networks,created a favorable internal environment for the development of gold and silver eating utensils.Moreover,the inclusive and open Tang culture also continuously provided design inspiration for the creation of them.Social and cultural prosperity promoted the growth of economy,while extravagance accumulated energy for the emergence of gold and silver eating utensils in Tang Dynasty.Gold and silver eating utensils in Tang Dynasty stood erect in the east of the world with a brand new look,which were the exclusive glory and splendor belonging exclusively to the Tang Dynasty.This paper is intended for the study of the Tang Dynasty gold and silver eating utensils,including four categories: plates,bowls,cups and jugs.The design ideas under discussion are a series of design-related understandings and reflections in the process of the creation and development of gold and silver eating utensils in the Tang Dynasty.In the existing researches,most of them concentrated on the shapes and patterns of eating utensils,and few pay attention to the relationship between eating utensils and people.Therefore,on the basis of the results of previous studies,this paper focuses attentions on the overall observation of the development context,detailed evolution,human-machine science as well as its design ideas of gold and silver eating utensils in the Tang.Firstly,archaeological typology is used to classify the research objects and quantify the development lineage of gold and silver eating utensils in the Tang Dynasty.Furthermore,an intuitive and comprehensive analysis is carried out,followed by a discussion on the shape changes,partly evolution and human-machine relationship of gold and silver eating utensils in the Tang Dynasty.The evolution rules are respectively summarized according to the type of eating utensils and the order of time.Finally,with the rules sorted out by the genealogy,the influences of foreign culture,social atmosphere and living habits on the shapes of gold and silver eating utensils comprehensively considered,the internal causes of the changes are deeply explored,so as the deeper design ideas behind the eating utensils.The shapes and styles of gold and silver eating utensils in the Tang Dynasty have its own system in terms of the long history of ancient Chinese design,which contains extensive and profound research value.From the perspective of design,this paper analyzes the evolution of gold and silver eating utensils from shapes to design ideas in the Tang Dynasty,attempts to explore the design aesthetics and design wisdom of the Tang Dynasty.
