| The patchwork technique has almost never been absent in the history of Chinese textile industry.However,compared to other textile processes,it was unfamiliar to most Chinese people in the middle of the last century.The revival of contemporary Chinese patchwork culture has been driven by the integration of various cultures,including the influence of American patchwork culture.The topic of comparative research on the composition of geometric patchwork patterns between China and the United States in the second half of the 20 th century is based on geometric style patchwork patterns around 1950 to 2000.The main research methods are timing and qualitative comparison.By conducting comparative research on the image and physical composition of geometric patchwork patterns between China and the United States,and using tabular analysis to sort out and summarize their commonalities,The focus is placed on the comparison of their modern values and exploration of application design.This study clarifies the differences in the definitions of patchwork between China and the West,and corrects the name of Chinese patchwork culture;This paper analyzes the modeling characteristics and cultural connotations of traditional geometric patchwork patterns in China and the United States,and summarizes the design language and system of geometric style patchwork patterns in China and the United States in the second half of the 20 th century.This provides a valuable reference for the needs of patchwork history and design research. |
