Objective To study the typical syndromees of lung cancer in the manner of combination of disease and syndromes.To explore the relation between the TNM classification for lung cancer and the distribution of typical syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine,and the quality of life between the two syndromes.To establish the Bayesian function discriminating formula of typical syndromes of lung cancer.To analyze the intrinsic association between symptoms and syndromes in lung cancer.Methods By taking advantage of the diagnosis model of the objective quantitation and subjective qualitation,120 cases of patients with lung cancer were quantitatively classified into the two typical types of TCM syndromes-the Qi deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome and the Qi and yin deficiency syndrome.And then the related data was collected to analyze the potential distribution way in TNM staging and typical syndromes of lung cancer.A 1:1 matching method was used to randomly select 80 cases of lung cancer that matched the age and gender of the two groups(40cases of deficiency of qi and phlegm and 40 cases of dampness of qi and yin),Then the quality of life over the two syndromes of patients with lung cancer was evaluated by European cancer research and treatment tissue lung cancer quality of life scale(EORTC QLQ-LC43),Then were randomly selected to screen their different variables,and the Bayesian discriminant function was established for the selected variables with great significance,and the consistency was verified by the method of backgeneration one by one.After the establishment of Bayesian discriminant function,40 cases of lung cancer(20 cases of qi deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome and 20 cases of qi and yin deficiency syndrome)were added to function discriminant test.Results There was statistical difference between TNM staging and TCM syndromes in the pattern of distribution(P < 0.05).There was statistical difference between Qi-deficiency phlegm-dampness syndrome and Qi-yin deficiency syndrome in traditional Chinese medicine syndrome(P < 0.05).The Bayesian discriminant function of typical syndromes of lung cancer was established and its stability was judged by the method of backgeneration test.The overall coincidence rate was 93.75 percent.The accuracy of the discriminant test was verified by 40 cases of TCM scores of syndromes in patients with lung cancer,and the accuracy of established Bayesian function is 90% and 85%,respectively.Conclusion The TNM stage of lung cancer was correlated with the distribution of typical syndromes of TCM,in which Qi deficiency and phlegm dampness were the main components in stage II and Qi and yin deficiency were the main factors in stage III and IV of lung cancer.The quality of life of patients with Qi deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome was better than that of Qi-Yin deficiency,considering on European Cancer Research and Organization quality of Life scale(EORTC QLQ-LC43).To establish the bayesian function discriminant and the clinical diagnosis of TCM typical syndromes of lung cancer can improve the objectivity and accuracy of TCM typical syndromes of lung cancer. |
