Purpose1.Develop and test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire of Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)for nurses in geriatric-related departments.2.Investigate the current status of Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)of nurses in geriatric-related departments on geriatric frailty, and analyze the factors that affect nurses in geriatric-related departments’ Knowledge Belief and Practice on geriatric frailty.Methods1.Questionnaire development and reliability and validity test:Through literature screening,semi-structured interviews, inquiries from Delphi experts, and preinvestigation,a Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)questionnaire for geriatric frailty was developed for nurses in geriatric-related departments; The pre-surveyed nurses were tested for test-retest reliability after 2 weeks by the same method, and then the internal consistency Cronbach coefficient and factor analysis model were used to calculate the reliability and construct validity of the questionnaire.2.Current situation investigation and analysis of influencing factors:This questionnaire includes two parts, namely "General Information" and "Questionnaire on(KBF)of Nurses in Elderly-related Departments on Frailty in the Elderly".According to the actual situation, this study used stratified random sampling method to select 784 nurses from 87 second-level and above hospitals across the country for investigation.Input the data into SPSS25.0,and use descriptive statistical analysis, rank sum test,t test,one-way analysis of variance, multiple regression and other methods to explore the Knowledge Belief and Practice of nurses in geriatric-related departments on geriatric frailty and analyze its influencing factors.Results1.Based on the "ICU Nurse ICU Acquired Frailty Knowledge,Attitude and Action Questionnaire",this study developed a Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)questionnaire for geriatric-related department nurses on geriatric frailty. The initial questionnaire contains 3 dimensions and 32 items(see Appendix A for details);an interview outline(see Appendix B)is prepared through literature search, background investigation, combined with the two selected qualitative articles(see Appendix B),and semi-structured interviews are conducted;after two rounds of Delphi Expert letter inquiries(see Appendix C-D)and feedback results, modify the items to form the basic framework of the questionnaire;finally carry out a pre-investigation,fine-tune 2 items, and finally form a questionnaire with 3 dimensions and 31 items(see Appendix E for details).).the reliability and validity survey results showed that the test-retest reliability of the two surveys was was 0.990,and the test-retest reliability of the three dimensions of knowledge, belief, and behavior were 0.951,0.993,and 0.989,respectively.The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of the total items of the questionnaire and the three dimensions of knowledge, belief, and behavior were 0.845,0.733,0932,and 0.944,respectively.The significant probability of the X2 statistical value of the Bartlett sphere test was P<0.05,and the KMO statistic was 0.904(P<0.001),indicating that the questionnaire had good reliability and validity.2.The results of each dimension of the questionnaire survey show that the average score of nurses’ knowledge is 32.33±3.69 points, with a full score of 42;the average attitude score is 32.32±5.01 points, with a full score of 40;the average behavioral score is 28.83±7.67 points, with a full score 45 points.3.The factors that affect the scores of nurses in geriatric-related departments on the knowledge of geriatric frailty are:age, gender, education, professional title and the hospital they are employed in;the factors affecting the scores of nurses in geriatricrelated departments on geriatric frailty are:gender and years of experience; The factors that the nurses in the department scored on the frailty behavior of the elderly were:gender, professional title and the hospital where they were employed;the factors that affected the scores of the nurses’ Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)were:whether they had learned the knowledge of frailty.4.The results of the correlation analysis of Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)show that there are significant correlations between knowledge and attitude, between knowledge and behavior, and between attitude and behavior(r=0.271,0.216,0.339,P<0.001).conclusions1.The developed "Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)Questionnaire for Elderly Debilitated Nurses in Elderly-related Departments" has good reliability and validity, and its reliability and validity indicators meet the measurement requirements and can be investigated.2.The current status of Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)of nurses in geriatric-related departments is not good, and attention should be paid to the dimension of frailty knowledge in particular. It is suggested that the nursing management department formulate relevant training plans and effective intervention measures to improve nurses’ Knowledge Belief and Practice(KBF)level of frailty in the elderly.
