| ObjectiveTo explore the timely nursing support and intervention for the caregivers of children with developmental dysplasia of the hip(DDH)in different periods under the guidance of the Timing it right framework, and its influence on the caregivers’ care ability, caregiver burden and children’s rehabilitation.MethodsA total of 98 caregivers of children with DDH admitted to the pediatric surgery department in three parks of a third-class hospital were randomly selected by random sampling method as the research objects, including 49 cases in both the control and the intervention group. The controls group was given routine nursing care and telephone follow-up,while special nursing interventions were adopted for the intervention group in addition to routine nursing care at different stages according to the five periods of the Timing it right framework. Then, the caregivers’ care ability and care burden were evaluated at the time of discharge,6 to 8 weeks and 3 months after discharge, while the hip joint score of DDH children at 6 to 8 weeks and 3months after discharge was compared.SPSS 21.0 was used for the analysis of statistical data.Results1.Before the intervention: no significant difference in general data between the two group caregivers of DDH children(P<0.05).2.After the intervention: the care ability score of caregivers in the control group at the time of discharge was(34.29±2.95),while the intervention group(31.59±2.81);the care ability score of caregivers in the control group at 6-8 weeks after discharge was(29.12±3.15),while the intervention group(26.37±2.99);the care ability score of caregivers in the control group at 3 months after discharge was(25.29±2.58),while the intervention group(17.47±2.28),the difference between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)at different times.3.After the intervention: the care burden score of caregivers in the control group at the time of discharge was(61.69±3.35),while the intervention group(was56.92±2.25);the care burden score of caregivers in the control group at 6-8 weeks after discharge was(51.59±3.29),while the intervention group(46.98±2.26);the care burden score of caregivers in the control group at 3 months after discharge was(36.16±4.24),while the intervention group(23.00±5.18),the difference between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)at different times.4.After the intervention: the hip joint score of DDH children in the intervention group was better than that in the control group at 6 to 8 weeks and 3months after discharge, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionBased on the Timing it right framework, providing timely nursing support and intervention to caregivers of children with DDH can effectively improve their nursing ability, reduce the burden of care, and improve the postoperative hip function of children. |
