Clinical Observation Of Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou Decoction Combined With Plum Blossom Needle In The Treatment Of Damp Heat Accumulation Acne

Objective:Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction combined with plum blossom needle in the treatment of damp heat accumulation acne.Methods:80 patients with damp heat accumulation acne who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group(oral ephedra Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction combined with plum blossom needle tapping)and control group(oral doxycycline hydrochloride capsule combined with plum blossom needle tapping).The patients in the two groups were followed up before treatment,the fourth week treatment and the eighth week treatment.The skin lesion score,clinical symptom score,pigmentation score and adverse reactions were recorded,and the curative effect was evaluated and statistically analyzed.Results:80 cases were included in this study,2 cases fell off during the treatment,and 76 cases finally completed the trial.There were 38 cases in the treatment group and 38 cases in the control group.The results were as follows:(1)there was no significant difference in gender,age,course of disease,skin lesion score,TCM syndrome score and pigmentation score between the two groups(P >0.05).(2)Skin lesion score: the skin lesion scores of patients in the treatment group were(8.87±2.27),(3.73±1.37)and(1.02±0.96)before treatment,4 weeks and 8 weeks respectively;The skin lesion scores of the control group were(9.07±2.07),(3.84±1.33)and(1.07±0.96)respectively before treatment,the 4th week and the 8th week;The skin lesion scores of the two groups decreased after 4 and 8 weeks of treatment(P<0.05).The two groups had the same effect on improving skin lesions(P>0.05).(3)TCM symptom score: the TCM symptom scores of patients in the treatment group were(5.21±1.62),(1.78±0.73)and(0.54±0.54)before treatment,4 weeks and 8 weeks respectively;The TCM symptom scores of the control group were(5.45±1.71),(4.16±1.14)and(3.81±1.40)respectively before treatment,the fourth week and the eighth week;The TCM symptom scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).The score of TCM symptoms in the treatment group decreased more significantly than that in the control group(P<0.05).(4)Post acne pigmentation score: after treatment,the degree of improvement of post acne pigmentation in the two groups was the same(P >0.05).(5)Clinical efficacy analysis:8 weeks of treatment,the total effective rates of improving skin lesions in the treatment group and the control group were 92.10% and 94.73% respectively.There was no significant difference in the effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05).After 8 weeks of treatment,the total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were97.37% and 94.74% respectively.There was no significant difference in the effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05).(6)Safety comparison:the incidence of adverse reactions between the treatment group and the control group was 5.26% and 23.68%.There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).(7)Recurrence rate: the recurrence rates of the treatment group and the control group were 2.86% and 30.56% respectively.There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction combined with plum blossom needle can effectively treat acne and reduce post acne pigmentation.Its curative effect is equivalent to that of Western medicine group.(2)Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction combined with plum blossom needle can significantly improve the TCM symptoms of patients with damp heat accumulation acne and reduce the recurrence rate.(3)The modified ephedra Forsythia Chixiaodou decoction combined with plum blossom needle is safer than the western medicine group without obvious side effects.
