Observation On The Clinical Effect Of Electro-acupuncture At Bliao Point On Erectile Dysfunction After Stroke

Objective: The study is to observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture at Baliao point on post-stroke erectile dysfunction patients.In this study,pelvic floor muscle electrophysiology was used to observe the changes of pelvic floor electromyography in patients with erectile dysfunction after stroke,combined with the International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-5)questionnaire and the Erectile Dysfunction Quality of Life Questionnaire(ED-EQo L)to evaluate clinical efficacy.Methods: Fifty-eight patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into an electroacupuncture at Baliao point group and a conventional treatment group.Both groups were given basic treatment including routine treatment for internal diseases,pelvic floor biofeedback electrical stimulation treatment,conventional acupuncture for stroke and rehabilitation exercise training;Electroacupuncture at Baliao point group was added electro-acupuncture at Baliao point daily on the basic treatment;and the conventional treatment group were given shallow acupuncture and electro-acupuncture at near by Baliao point in addition to basic treatment.In order to analyse the changes of the erectile function and pelvic floor muscle electromyography,the same doctor investigated both groups through the International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-5)questionnaire,the Erectile Dysfunction –Effect on Quality of Life(ED-EQo L)questionnaire and the pelvic floor muscle electromyography evaluation before the first treatment and after 4 weeks of treatment.Results:(1)Analysis of scale scoring results: The two groups were compared before and after treatment.After 4 weeks of treatment,the two groups were evaluated with the International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-5)questionnaire and the Erectile Dysfunction–Effect on quality of life(ED-EQo L).The scores were significantly improved(all P<0.05);after 4 weeks of treatment,the improvement of IIEF-5 and ED-EQo L scale scores in the electroacupuncture at Baliao point group was greater than that in the conventional treatment group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)The results of pelvic floor electromyography slow muscle(class I)fiber contraction amplitude changes: compared with those before treatment in the two groups,after 4 weeks of treatment,the slow muscle fiber contraction amplitudes were improved(all P<0.05);after 4 weeks of treatment,the amplitude of contraction of slow muscle fibers in the electroacupuncture at Baliao point group was more effective than that in the conventional treatment group(P<0.05).(3)The results of pelvic floor electromyography fast muscle(class II)fiber contraction amplitude changes: compared with before treatment in both groups,after 4 weeks of treatment,the contraction amplitude of fast muscle fibers in both groups increased(both P<0.05);After 4 weeks,the contraction amplitude of fast-twitch muscle fibers in the electroacupuncture at Baliao point group increased more significantly than that in the conventional treatment group(P<0.05).(4)The results of pelvic floor electromyography comprehensive muscle(class I & II)fiber contraction amplitude changes: the two groups were compared with those before treatment.After 4 weeks,the changes of the comprehensive muscle fiber contraction amplitude were improved(all P < 0.05);after 4 weeks of treatment,the comprehensive muscle fiber contraction amplitude of the electroacupuncture at Baliao point group was improved more significantly than that of the conventional treatment group(P<0.05).Conclusions: 1.The treatment in both groups can improve the patients’ erectile function ability and the reactivity and coordination of the pelvic floor muscles,enhance the muscle strength and endurance of the pelvic floor muscles,and promote the improvement of erectile function.but the electroacupuncture at Baliao point group is significant more effective than the other group in improving the pelvic floor muscle strength,endurance and erectile function ability.2.Both the electroacupuncture at Baliao point group and the conventional treatment group can improve the degree of erectile dysfunction and improve the daily living ability,and the electroacupuncture at Baliao point group has better effect.
