| Under the great background of our country’s medical environment, nurses have a heavy workload, heavy work responsibilities, high risks, irregular working hours, and the emergence of uncertain epidemics. The negative emotions of nurses are becoming more and more serious, and their turnover intention is becoming more and more intense.Rumination is related to turnover intention, however, there is a lack of research on the influence mechanism between rumination and turnover intention. This study explores the current status and trends of rumination and turnover intention among nurses and we further explore the mediating role of negative emotions in rumination and turnover intention,as well as the role of perceivable social support to regulate negative emotions in rumination.According to the results of the study, the relationship model between variables was constructed and strategies for individual and organizational prevention and mitigation of mental health interventions for nurses were proposed. In this study,a cross-sectional questionnaire was used to verify the hypothesis.432 nurses from three hospitals in Jiangxi province were surveyed by questionnaire in this research. The results indicate that:(1)Rumination and turnover rate of nurses are high;(2)General demographic variables such as age, gender, and departmental title have different degrees of differences in rumination, perceivable social support, negative emotions and turnover intentions;(3)There is a significant negative correlation between perceivable social support and rumination, negative emotions, and turnover intention and a significant positive correlation between rumination, negative emotions, and turnover intention;(4)Negative emotions play a mediating role in rumination and turnover intention;(5)Perceived social support plays a moderating role in the first half of the mediating effect of rumination on turnover intention, this indicates that perceivable social support plays a moderating role between rumination and negative emotions, and the positive relationship between rumination and negative emotions was more obvious in individuals with low perceivable social support than in individuals with high perceivable social support. In conclusion, rumination affects turnover intention through negative emotion, and perceivable social support plays a moderating role in the process. In practice,it will provide theoretical basis for hospital managers’ management of nurses and improve the treatment and welfare of nurses.Improve the public professional image of nurses, encourage the head nurse and other leaders to provide enough social support, improve the sense of support and belonging of nurses, reduce the negative emotions and turnover intention of nurses. |
