AIM:To explore the postoperative refractive error and influence factors using the Optical Biometry(IOL-Master)in patients with silicone oil filled eye complicated cataract between high myopia(axial length> 26mm)and non-high myopia(axial length<26mm)after silicone oil removal combined with cataract surgery.METHODS:From August 2020 to November 2020 in the Affiliated Eye Hospital of Nanchang University,41 patients(41 eyes)with silicone oil eye complicated cataract were divided into 2 groups: 18 patients(18 eyes)in high myopia group and 23patients(23 eyes)in non-high myopia group.Record the patients’ intraoperative intraocular lens(IOL)degree and postoperative refraction,as well as axial length(AL),cornea curvature(K),IOL degree calculation before and after silicone oil removal combined with phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation surgery using IOL-Master.Statistical analysis was performed in SPSS20.0.RESULTS:1.The mean astigmatism(D)of the IOL-MASTER measurement and refraction were-1.29±0.95 and-1.22±0.92 in the high myopia group;likewise,-1.48±0.88 and-1.82±1.47 in the non-high myopia group, respectively. The mean spherical degree(D)of the IOL-Master measurement and refraction were-3.05±1.03 and-2.67±2.17 in the high myopia group and-0.35±0.55;likewise,-0.66±1.01 in the non-high myopia group, respectively. There were no statistically significant differences(P > 0.05).2.The preoperative and postoperative AL in high myopia groups were28.37±1.73 and 28.10±1.55 mm,respectively, and the differences were statistically significant(t = 3.994,P < 0.05).The mean △AL were-0.28±0.2 and 0.05±0.31 mm between the two groups, indicating statistically significant differences(P < 0.05),while △K,MARE and △astigmatism were not statistically significant(P > 0.05).3.The preoperative and postoperative AL of the non-high myopia group were23.06±0.98 and 23.14±0.89 mm,with no statistical significance(t =-1.189,p > 0.05).4.Bivariate linear correlation analysis: In the high myopia group, there was a moderate positive correlation between preoperative AL and MARE(r = 0.742,P <0.05),and a moderate negative correlation between △AL and MARE(r =-0.646,P <0.05).There was no correlation between K,△K and MARE before surgery(P > 0.05).In non-high myopia group, preoperative AL,△AL,preoperative K,△K were not correlated with MARE(P > 0.05).Conclusions:1.The measurement error of IOL-Master was small, and the measurement accuracy of IOL degree in silicone oil eye complicated with cataract was high.2.There were errors in the measurement of axial length before and after operation in patients with high myopia silicone oil eye complicated with cataract. The postoperative axial length was shorter than the preoperative.3.The postoperative refractive error of high-myopia silicone oil eye was related to the axial length and the reduction of axial length after silicone oil removal. The longer the patient’s axial length before silicone oil removal or the more changes of postoperative measurement of the axial length, the greater the error of refractive.
