Objective: To investigate the effects of Emotional Freedom Techniques on anxiety, stress, embryo development and pregnancy outcome in patients with in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer for the first time. Methods: This research was a non-synchronized,non-randomized trial. The research institute was the reproductive and Genetic Center of a Third-class hospital in Wuxi.Sixty-four patients enrolled between May 2018 and November 2019 were served as the control group.Sixty-six patients enrolled between December 2019 and November 2021 were included in the intervention group. All patients were required to meet inclusion and exclusion criteria. On the filing day,the general data of patients were collected and their anxiety and stress perception levels were assessed by the Self-rating Anxiety Scale and the Chinese 14-item PSS for the first time. The intervention group received Emotional Freedom Techniques on the basis of assisted reproductive specialist routine care.Patients were treated with Emotional Freedom Techniques(EFT)from the date of the filing to the date of oocyte retrieval,10 to 15 min every day in the morning and evening. The control group received assisted reproductive specialist routine care.On the day of oocyte retrieval, patients in both groups were assessed again by the Self-rating Anxiety Scale and the Chinese 14-item PSS.SPSS25.00 statistical software was used to compare and analyze whether there was statistical significance in anxiety and stress scores between the two groups.Collect data on early embryonic development from the embryo laboratory and compare whether there was statistical significance between two groups.Human Chorionic Gonadotropin(β-HCG)levels were measured 14-16 days after IVF-ET.HCG values > 5.3mmol/L were positive, and HCG values < 5.3mmol/L were negative.p<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:(1)The general data of patients in the two groups were comparable, and there was no statistical significance in the patients’ age, cultural level, time of infertility, occupation type, causes of infertility, body mass index and other aspects.(p>0.05).(2)After intervention, the total score of anxiety in the intervention group was significantly lower after intervention than before, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05);the total score of anxiety in the control group after intervention was not significantly different from that before intervention(p>0.05);before intervention, there was no significant difference in anxiety levels between the two groups(p>0.05);after intervention, the difference before and after intervention group was higher than that before and after control group, the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05)(3)After Intervention, the perceived stress score of the two groups decreased compared with before intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05);before intervention, there was no significant difference in perceived stress between the two groups(p<0.05);after intervention, the difference in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group, with statistical significance(p>0.05).(4)The rate of high-quality embryos in intervention group was higher than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).(5)Biochemical pregnancy rate and clinical pregnancy outcome between the two groups after intervention were not statistically significant(p>0.05).Conclusion: Infertile women with in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer have psychological problems such as anxiety and stress.Nursing based on Emotional Freedom Techniques can significantly decrease the anxiety and stress levels of patients with in vitro fertilization-embryo fertilization. It has certain effects on the rate of high-quality embryo, while the effect on biochemical pregnancy rate and clinical pregnancy rate is ambiguous. |
